No one doubted it would happen, but we do have confirmation from Nikkei that all of Nintendo's initial shipment of 400,000 3DS game systems have sold. One day. Gone just like that.
We called this launch day the most uneventful launch day ever. It was like that because just about all of the initial shipment was spoken for in pre-orders from over a month ago. And those pre-orders were snatched up in only a day. Stores didn't even see walk-in traffic.
There were a few places you could line up to buy a system without a pre-order, but those were very rare. One of the largest was Akihabara's massive monolith of electronics, Yodobashi Camera. As seen above, in a picture by Famitsu, hundreds waited outside, with walk-in traffic waiting alongside pre-order customers. In the end, 1,000 walk-in customers went home happy. This really was an isolated case, as all of the other stores we visited were strictly pre-order only traffic.
Nintendo is still planning on shipping out more to bring Japan to a total of 1.5 million systems by the end of March. Word is that some shops have opened up pre-orders again. This is probably going to go on for some time, knowing Japan.

Really? Oh I think a few "Sony Defense Force Troops" doubted it would happen. If their idiotic comments in the other thread, about the 3DS launch, is any indication. They doubted it big time!
of me likes the wait in front of a store all night activities, I'm going to be able to waltz in and grab a 3ds lite and some awesome games which will be at year old discount prices

Or at least surpasses expected sales! Of course I want Sony to do better, but I don't want Nintendo to fail! If theres no competition, then theres no motivation to make better games and systems!

Were pre-orders only available last month? When did they start?
I plan on pre-ordering the NGP day 1!
Also, I think the 3D is really cool, but I realist that most of the time when I'm playing my psp on the couch or something I play with one eye closed, I didn't even realise it until just recently. But who knows maybe nintendo can get me back ( the last time I had a current gen nintendo console was the 64) maybe they're due.

If you read the other 3DS launch post, that Dale made earlier, than you would see the “Sony Defense Force” claiming that the 3DS was selling bad;y, because people weren't lining up for it without preorders. So how is that me trolling? I was just pointing out the stupidity of others. If that's trolling, than everyone on the internet is a troll, including yourself!

Just being honest!
I always seem to make a bad impression the first time I join a community. I'm not really myself, I don't know how to act, I don't know peoples humor, or how the site works, and I fall victim to trolls. And when all that happens, I tend to become an ass hole :/
