Confirmed: GTA IV: The Lost and the Damned will be 1600 Microsoft Points photo

Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and the Damned will cost a stellar 1600 Microsoft Points. That translates to 20 real dollars or roughly a fourth of the cost of Jack LaLanne’s Power Juicer Plus (but only if you act now).

This is the official price -- Eurogamer was able to pull the confirmation directly from Rockstar. Twenty bucks may seem like a chunk of change, but there’s a reason. Eurogamer is reporting that it is “roughly” equal to one-third of the main game's story missions. Plus, there’s an Achievement with the number “69” that comes with it. Why not pay the money to show that one off to your mom?

GameStop and other retailers have been listing this price for the content for over two millennia, so this isn’t exactly a surprise. Retailers are right 900 billion percent of the time.

Quite honestly I'm not all that interested anymore. I suppose that's why MS was so intent on getting this out last year... I'll probably nab this eventually if it gets a price drop, but for me there's enough games coming out in the next couple of months...

Before everyone comes in and says they don't care and GTA4 was an over rated piece of shit, let me just say I'm excited and buying it day one.

I have little doubt this is going to be great. And $20 isn't bad for the amount of content the game seems to have.

Price drop on DLC? Price drop on a AAA title that is exclusive to 360?

You might as well hope for Halo on PS3.

@BlindsideDork

I picked up the Legendary Map Pack DLC for Halo 3 at half price on one of the MS Holiday sales. I don't think it's all that unlikely that this will come down in price eventually. Mass Effect's bonus content was reduced for a bit, too.

Been reading some write-ups about the new content, and I have to say that i'm getting very excited for this DLC. Probably the most confusing thing to me all year has been the immense amount of GTA backlash. I truly enjoyed this game to its finish and am looking forward to this new content.

Like ZombiePlatypus, I have way too much other stuff on my plate to bother with this. My excitement for GTAIV hit a brick wall months ago.

I'll have to hear some facts about the DLC before I consider buying it for that price.

Seems like a fair price, but I'm curious if this will get a disc-release once the second DLC pack comes out, similar to Oblivion's additional content. Seeing as I've barely touched GTA IV so far, I think I'll hold off on this content for now and wait to see if this happens.

I remember back when i pre-orderd gta 4 in germany (in a Gamestop) and got 2 codes with it. 1 for some free gamerpictures and another one for microsoft points so i can buy the new DLC hitting "THIS FALL". Well it's not fall anymore and the 500 (!!!) points wont help me much to get this DLC..

I'm with Justice, I need to see what's really in there. I'm definitely interested, but I didn't pay for the game itself. If I did, I probably wouldn't be as interested.

If you enjoyed GTA4 buy it, if you didnt enjoy GTA4 dont buy it.

I think 1600 points aint bad for proper not hidden on the disc/held back from the retail game DLC.

One thing I know is MS wont make back 50 million on this DLC alone.Maybe the extra games/consoles sold helped but 50 million...........

There's new vehicles, weapons, clothes and music included in the DLC. One's an auto shotgun but thats all the detail i know.

Wow, that's a lot of money.

At what point does a game have so much content that adding a fuck-ton more makes no difference in the grand scheme of things?

All I can say is it's a good thing Rockstar got payed a boat-load for the exclusivity because I don't think this DLC is going to sell very well AT ALL.

Basically, casual GTA players (the vast majority of people thhat bought the game) dont even play to beat the game, they only play for the ability to run down the street killing random people. The only people I could see being interested in this are the people that ACTUALLY played the game from start to finish and hit up pretty much every side mission on the way. That's not very many people.

If you can:

Afford an Xbox 360
Afford Xbox LIVE
Afford a copy of GTA IV

than stop bitching about the price of an expansion pack, because you can clearly afford it. STFUAJPG

I actually cringed the moment I saw that price. That's asking a lot for DLC. Even if there's a lot of content packed in, I just can't see myself paying for this.

Considering that the entirity of GTAIV only cost me around £45, why should I pay £20 for one small (albeit new) campaign and mission line?

1200 would have been a much fairer price, though still pushing it in the grand scheme of things.
