Even though a sequel is on the horizon, 2007 monster hit Call of Grenade Duty 4: Modern Warfare’s player base has expanded. According to Infinity Ward’s community manager Robert Bowling, there are currently 13 million unique users playing Modern Warfare on Xbox LIVE.
"Call of Duty 4 on Xbox Live just exploded,” Bowling told Major Nelson on his podcast. “I mean right now we're at 13 million unique users on 360 and that's insane."
Bowling said a mere 10,006,606 unique users were around in January. Growth, it seems, from nothing more than being an awesome game. Growth that Infinity Ward and Activision surely hope will translate to their next Modern Warfare title, the simply titled Modern Warfare 2.
Modern Warfare 2 is due out on November 10, and the entire world will probably play it religiously.

I really hope they do something to discourage this behaviour some day.
Will no doubt get MW2 though, hopefully will not get so bored of it so quickly this time.
You know, I think I've seen that pop up more times than I've heard Rita say "BLAHBLAHBLAH TIDAL WAVE" in Tales of Vesperia.
