Conduit 2 delayed until 2011, getting new control options photo

Bad news for Wii owners and first-person shooter fans -- High Voltage's sequel Conduit 2 has been pushed out of this year and in to 2011. The game will now see release in the first quarter of next year.

The good news is that you'll now be able to play the game using a Classic Controller or a Classic Controller Pro; fans of dual analog shooters should be happy to hear about their inclusion as a control option. The original Conduit had High Voltage doing a pretty great job of re-defining how you use just a Wii Remote and Nunchuk to play a first-person shooter, but it wasn't for everyone. It was previously announced that the sequel would take advantage of the Wii MotionPlus for more accurate controls.

Conduit 2 should be on the floor at PAX this week; we'll send our ninjas to find out more about the delay, and we'll see if we can try the game out with the new Classic Controller scheme.

Good move. I won't have to decide between this and Goldeneye now. I might get it next year if it gets good reviews.

i hope the core gameplay is better than the 1st one

yes, the controls were great
yes, the graphics were great (for a wii game)
yes, the multiplayer was great

but the game yet had that feeling of missing something

so in the last few months, hvs has laid off workers, cancelled ips, released a crappy fighting game, and now announced a delay on their flagship title. such is life for a third rate game dev, i guess. i'll be surprised if this game ever comes out. i, for one, am not looking forward to it. especially with both goldeneye and CoD coming out soon.

If Metroid Prime 3 taught me anything, you really don't need Wii MotionPlus for incredibly accurate controls. So, uhh. What? :U

Smart move from them. This will open up to the people who were too scared to play FPS with the Wiimote and Nunchuck, or maybe the fact they just sucked at playing FPS with the mote and chuck. Anyway, this wouldn't be a bad move since there are plenty of FPS games that are releasing by the end of this year. I'm excited for Goldeneye, Call of Duty, and Medal of Honor.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting kind of tired of graphics being good "for a Wii game." I'm not trying to be a dick, but if a game has good graphics, aren't they just that, regardless of platform?

As for the article, I'm really glad they're concentrating on giving PC-level control customization to a console game.

I didn't realize that a 2010 release was in the cards. Perhaps a delay could raise awareness and polish.

Dunno why they make it seem like CC and CCPro support is a different thing. They're the same damn controller just different layout. Every game that supports CC supports CCPro.

This game looks pretty cool. Anyone play the first one? I've thought about picking it up, but the reviews are all over the place on it. The metacritic scores range from 30 to 91!

They're probably adding the CC support because like RHuno said, the reviews we're all over the place. Half the reviewers just don't like playing FPS's with a Wiimote. So give those crybaby's their bottle with the CC support and now they'll have one less thing to whine about. GoldenEye has it as well, so people will be use to it in that game and Move will be out for the PS3 for months, so more people will get use to using a Wiimote like control scheme by the time this game does come out. I can see the sequel getting way better reviews than the first one. Moving it out of the holiday season will be bad for sales, but if it makes it a better game, then it will be for the best in the end.

THe first one was pretty good game, not memorable in any way but it did have the difficulty that many other FPS lack. It sort of reminded me of playing doom, but with new graphics and stuff, because of the constant repetition.

The online was decent, but some what glitchy and every time you died you see your hand. But if you can find the original for ABOUT $15-25 then it would be worth it.

i liked the conduit. the acuracy and feel that the wii mote provided was great in my opinion. the inclusion of the new controls is a good buisness move which allows them to absorb more of the market.

LOL... they're delaying it because they think they're competing with COD Black Ops. How cute.

I'd prefer it received a new console option

@ pABSO:

The game wasn't very good, so you're not missing anything great at all...
