Composer Kinuyo Yamashita plays MMX3 music on piano

8:30 PM on 09.18.2012

One of the people I'm most looking forward to meeting at this year's MAGFest is Kinuyo Yamashita, the legendary game composer we all have to thank for making the original Castlevania sound so damn good. Her work can also be heard on such titles as Power Blade, Parodius, Pocky & Rocky, and Mega Man X3.

Speaking of X3, Yamashita-san uploaded a video to her YouTube account last week, in which she performs a piano arrangement of Blizzard Buffalo's theme with a dash of Zero's theme for good measure. It's classy and beautiful, and I want more! To hear game tunes I grew up listening to performed by the actual composer is such a wonderful sensation.

I hope she plays some piano pieces at MAGFest! Let's hear some "Vampire Killer"!
