Command & Conquer 4 public beta 'very soon' photo

Itching to get your GDI and NOD on? Why fire up an old Command and Conquer title when you can play Command and Conquer 4: Tiberium Twilight? According to Command and Conquer community manager Aaron "APOC" Kaufman, you'll have your chance soon enough.

"Command and Conquer 4 beta will be going public very soon," he writes on Twitter. "Every RTS fan in the world can give Command and Conquer 4 multiplayer a test drive."

He later details the public beta, explaining that it will be "done in conjunction with Gamespot." More details are said to be coming this week; we'll keep you posted when it's good to go.

Because Command and Conquer used to be good.

Because I'm afraid Kirsten Stewart might show up.

don't bother to download this beta when it go public ppl, im playing it now, and its a fucking nightmare, you can't even play one single match without disconnect, and EA seems to give a flying crap about it,the game get bored pretty quickly too, is all the same thing, units and strategies over and over and over and over, believe me, this doesn't deserve your time

I played the closed beta for all of 10 minutes, then uninstalled it and deleted it.
They took a great strategy series and made it into......something. It's just a class based spamfest, with no real resource gathering or strategy, and not even a bit of tactics to balance that out.

I've been in the beta for a few months now and I have to say it's actually pretty fun. CNC4 is kind of like a mash-up between the older C&Cs, Counter Strike (Five Player Teams), TF2 (Class Systems), and Modern Warfare (the unlockable units and respawn).

what? WTF? your comparison are totally stupid how you can compare this piece of crap with those games?? every RTS game has 5vs5 mode dude for god sake, class systems sucks big time, shitty and underpowered units on almost all their arsenal, oh look u can unlock units !!! but the game is so shity by itself than it will just take 1 DAY to get ALL the FULL arsenal of the game, what a pathetic game, seriusly, and since EA seems to give a shit about all our complains and feedback, i'll pirate C&C4 when it come out on march 15-16, it don't worth 60 dollars, want a real RTS? BUY sc2 or supreme commander 2, goddammit C&C4 ins't even a RTS anymore !! it is a RTT now ( real time tactics) so seriusly, just don't waste money on this game that don't deserve to be called C&C

Played a beta for 10 minutes? Dude, you shouldn't even have the right to beta test something if you aren't going to devote time into the game, no matter how crappy and buggy it is. The point of a closed beta is for you to give them input and tell them what is wrong. People seem to forget this, and it is because people like you games get released with bugs in them that people failed to report because they didn't enjoy the first 10 minutes of a game. If I had the beta I would be playing it right now and wouldn't stop playing it til my fingers were bleding and my eyes begging for a break, and not because it is a franchise I like, because is a beta testers job to do so.

around 5-15 decenmber, gamespot was giving free beta keys, but they were in a limited amount, i got one, and i download the beta and then played until now, the beta as goes, from bad to WORSE, its look like EA get all the feedback wrong, every single patch as fucking up the beta even more, we are actually in rev11 and its totally worthless try to connect to a game because there is a gamebreaking error that will kick you from it, and EA give a fuck about it, hope nobody get this beta when it become public, wich is gonna be like in 1-2 weeks like maximum, you aren't losing anything, there is nothing to see here, i bet the full-retail version of the game will have the same fucking flaws because EA don't hear they testers, its a beta and we ALL know the point of it is finding bugs, glitches, balance it, remove, add units, etc, but this is a different case, we have not see 1 good thing in the update patchs, wich let u with a very nice mental image of how the game will be when its released on 15-16, as i say before, im gonna pirate it, playing campaing ( only thing that bothers me and the only reason why im gonna pirate it) and unistalling, and blame EA for have ruined the C&C franchise and then move on to REAL RTS game like SC2 or supreme commander 2

Things I saw in the beta that made me stop:
No resources, except for upgrades
Unit production only stopped by popcap, and the time taken to build each unit
A handful of units per class
You have to level up to unlock more units
When rushed by guys of a higher level than your team, your base crawler respawns after a time delay.
Disconnects you after 2-3 minutes.
Has almost nothing to do with C&C, except for the setting.

Aside from the synch errors, which everyone complained about, this has nothing to do with problems in the pre-release game. It's problems with the design of the game itself. They've taken a game that was amazing in its specific genre, RTS, and made it into a sub-par RTT game. They said upfront that this is the game, and they're just making minor changes before release. On top of that, the team is probably going to be fired after release due to budget cuts at EA. They made a risky and gutsy move in trying to change their game to appeal to a changing market, but they missed the mark.
