We all know that Activision is the bad guy now and Electronic Arts is all awesome and cool these days, but that doesn't mean that it won't be whoring out a popular franchise as much as it can. Never doubt that EA is a business, and its next move in franchise spreading is evidently going to be an RPG based in the Spore universe.
The reveal slipped out via Comic-Con's show schedule where this description popped up:
6:00-7:00 Video Game Reveal: Maxis Studio— Maxis Studio (The Sims and Spore video games) has just announced their next project, a brand new, Sci-Fi Action-RPG based on the DNA of Spore. Join key leads from the dev team, Thomas Vu, Paul Sottosanti and Lauren McHugh, for the first game reveal to the public! Room 3
Now don't get me wrong; as long as this is a good game that actually has something to do with Spore, the Spore name can be smeared all over it like cream cheese on a bagel. In fact I'm kind of hoping that this is the hinted at Darkspore. We will find out more soon as Comic-Con approaches quickly and Dtoid will be there.
