CoJ: Bound in Blood patched, load times reduced for PS3 photo

Maybe, just maybe, a patch will reinvigorate what little online community for Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood there is left. Assuming there is any at all.

Up for download on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game as of today, the patch aims to balance multiplayer classes, create smoother matches, and "significantly reduce" checkpoint load times for PS3 users.

Spy: damage increased; health increased;
Gunslinger: recoil reduced; accuracy improved;
Hombre: recoil and reload time increased; damage at long range significantly reduced;
Veteran: health and accuracy decreased; additional pistols removed;
Sniper: no-scope accuracy and damage significantly reduced; health decreased; sidearm Ranger swapped for Classic Gun

Even though I've failed to pick up Bound in Blood yet, it's on my to-buy list. When it becomes slightly more affordable, that is. My favorite thing about playing videogames months after their original release is seeing the prompt to download an update, which will now be the case for this title.

Like the smell of a newly-opened game, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. There's no hope for me, I know.

You're not alone. That smell that freshly printed manuals give off is worth the asking price alone.

Knowing my luck, those smells are probably some sort of toxic chemical that I willingly inhale every time I get a new game. :(

they should bottle it so I can spray it in my car. I'd probably be accused of doing blow off the dashboard though because of my incessant sniffing.

LOL, seeing the 'update now' when you newly buy a game is not all that uncommon either, with Brutal Legend it stung me a full 250 meg download straight off the bat. Nice this they're still putting effort into this game though. When I played the demo I didn't really imagine playing it online, maybe it would be good. I'm guessing bullet time doesn't really do much except make you look dumb though, like WOAH that guys moving reaaal slow.... (I understand this isn't in online lol)

The demo didn't impress me, too restricted, and everything felt overly gritty - Deadwood squared. It was almost comedic!

Just remake Outlaws, or hurry up with Read Dead Revolver 2 already!

Interesting - The Hombre class was a total beast and unstoppable at close to med range. The spy was a useless class before.

I might play the game again and check out the changes.

Bought it, played it for a week, enjoyed the online (it takes a masterpiece *ehem Uncharted 2 Ehem* to get my vaguely interested in a single player game) traded it in.

No regrets.

That smell is to die for.

Bound In Blood does not get the recognition it deserves. I rented it from LoveFilm and thought it would get a week's worth of play from me but I actually kept it for almost 7 weeks and was sad to send it back. Might pick it up again in the bargain bin one day and play the other half of the single player - I played the whole game as Thomas to get the trophy for seeing all of one brother's story.

The demo never really grabbed me. Perhaps if one of my friends had the game so I could try it out. Everyone has been sandbagging waiting for mw2. Once that comes out we won't hafta worry about tomfoolery like coj bib.

Isn't it like $20 at GameStop now?

Also, when I gave multiplayer a shot a few weeks ago there was only 12-20 people playing that I was able to match with.

It's a fun game. And yes, it was deeply discounted a GS a short time ago, but has since risen to $32.99. Still worth it IMHO. Multiplayer is fun, but there were very few players on the 360.
