There's nothing I'd rather see appear in a game trailer more than the words "actual gameplay footage." Generally speaking, this short disclaimer means that what you're about to witness is visually stunning, leaving you to worry about the controls and gameplay itself instead of having your inner graphics whore take over.
DiRT was the last racing game to come out of Codemasters, and its incredible in-game cameras and graphical flair were as impressive to me back then as the above footage for GRID is to me now. Here's hoping it is able to up the ante.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Never actually playing DiRT, I have only gone on hearsay. Personally, if I can't get in there and bump my opponent out of the way in online competition. I'm not really interested. From my understanding, thats how DiRT online play was (I could be wrong please correct me if I am).
Whats the point in driving around a track as fast as you can without the opportunity to just put your opponent in the wall and smash their car to a million pieces. Seriously, people don't watch Nascar on TV just for the exciting sports coverage. It's all about the carnage.
I thought Dirt was awesome game and featured the best intro and menu I have ever seen(download the demo on xbl if you havent seen it). This looks just as impressive.
Hmm... I can see the crashes showcased here alluding to that occurring online more often than not. I put up enough with n00b drivers in Forza who can't correctly modulate throttle, braking, and race lines and just crash into you all the time so I'm not sure how much I would play this. Anyways sWeEt GraPHIX though if that counts for anything.
Ok... screw GT5, I want GRID. I want friggin crashes and non-boring gameplay. My monitor doesn't even support 1080p anyways... I am now eagerly expecting this game.
I'm fully interested, but only if the physics are believable. Dirt still lacked realism, but lately, Codemasters has been doing much better than other arcade racing games with regards to handling.
As for the eye candy, it's only worth it if the game runs at 60FPS. I'd rather take a hit on detail to get perfectly smooth motion, so Dirt was a bit disappointing. Grid looks like it will fare better.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

I hated the feeling of the cars in Dirt with a burning passion, so I hope the handling in this is a bit better.
And I really need to get a high def TV at some point.
