CMT: Roy Orbison tracks headed to Rock Band photo

While it hasn't been officially confirmed, it appears that a Roy Orbison track pack is headed to Rock Band in the near future.

The news comes from an online blurb advertising Country Music Television's Top 20 Countdown of the Year, which airs on Friday, December 26 at 1PM ET/PT. More specifically, the Web site states: "Plus, get details on how you can rock out with The Soul of Rock and Roll with the upcoming release of the Roy Orbison Pack for Rock Band 2 consoles."

Yup, well, there's no mistaking those words. It looks like we'll have to wait until Friday for more details, although you'd sooner find me scraping paint off of a wall for fun before I'd watch CMT. Word has it that some people have spotted Rock Band ads on the official forums stating that this pack would contain six songs. I think I'll just wait for the Harmonix/MTV Games press release to hit my inbox, eh?

Besides the obvious -- "Oh, Pretty Woman" or "You Got It," for instance -- what Orbison songs would you like to play in Rock Band?

[Thanks, Andrew!]

They can start making DLC out of classic rock songs again any time they like...

Its a crime that April Wine - Sign of the Gypsy Queen isn't in the game yet.

Crying, Only the Lonely, Pretty Woman, You Got It. Yeah, that about sums it up for me.

I have NO problem with this.

This is gonna rock - talk about your legends of rock. I can only hope that this prompts more DLC from his generation. I wants me some Chuck Berry, and I wants it now!

It's times like this that I'm reminded of those weird-ass fanfics about wrapping Roy Orbison in clingfilm.

Oh man please have "In Dreams" in this pack so there can be reenactments of scenes from Blue Velvet in the middle of Rock Band parties.

Sweet. Get on that Chuck Berry suggestion. I will break my hands to get to play Johnny Be Good to 100% Expert.

Especially if I can manage to do it for an Enchantment Under the Sea Dance for my parents so they'll screw and have me as a baby several years down the road.
