You know the folks at PETA get angry over the strangest stuff sometimes. That would be fine if they kept it consistent, but it appears that they're absolutely fine with baby seals being clubbed to death and then having their heads used as a hat. Evidently wearing fur is murder, but if the skull is still around it's A OK.
Speaking at E3 Codemasters’ Sam Cordier demonstrated that one could indeed make a fashion statement out of a fuzzy cute animal in Overlord II and that that is actually quite acceptable to PETA. See since the Overlord is an evil character doing evil things that makes it fine for him to do his evil tasks in the game. I suppose that is a logical argument, but really it just seems like splitting hairs. If you're going to be a stuck-up group who bitches a lot make sure you bitch at every chance you get, right?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Seriously. It isn't often a group uses "The character and plot of the game say it is okay" to stay cool with what they are trying to stop.
Just like Doom we make their heads go boom
I got seal carcasses all over my room

it's that lame
No , I'm pretty sure you're lamer , I mean , you got banned dude , get over it ! Go to GameFAQs or somenthing ...
I think that in OverlordIII(maybe in the future) you'll be able to rape the seals.
"Oh no! Jason Voorhes just killed 20 kids, 5 puppies, the Pope and the President of the US!"
"That's OK with us! He was evil!"
"Evil has a lot to offer"
so true, so true.
I must have woken up in a parallel universe.
......oh my now I understand, this game is an interspecies racial sh*tstorm !
But seriously PETA, grow up get a life and do something about REAL animal cruelty if you care so much about animals. Peace out on interactive entertainment please
You know what's funny is that for all the supposedly annoying stances PETA takes on things, all I ever really notice are gaming blogs bitching about PETA. It's like a weird little club or something. Who cares!? Besides, every time you do bitch about PETA, you're actually just giving their message free publicity (no value judgment on my part whether their message is good or bad).
Honestly, this is craziness!
However, I look forward to killing Pandas, those things are EVIL!
Not only is "Picking on others weaker than you" in the instructions for Whack-a-Seal, it's also the name of Canada's seal slaughter game. PETA is pleased that Whack-a-Seal is drawing attention to Canada's annual seal slaughter, during which sealers beat and skin hundreds of thousands of baby seals every year for products that are now banned in the U.S. and in Europe. In real life, seals don't have helmets and can't fight back, but perhaps you'll soon see PETA-made helmets for baby seals in Canada.
