Club Seals, wear them as hats. That's cool with PETA photo

You know the folks at PETA get angry over the strangest stuff sometimes. That would be fine if they kept it consistent, but it appears that they're absolutely fine with baby seals being clubbed to death and then having their heads used as a hat. Evidently wearing fur is murder, but if the skull is still around it's A OK.

Speaking at E3 Codemasters’ Sam Cordier demonstrated that one could indeed make a fashion statement out of a fuzzy cute animal in Overlord II and that that is actually quite acceptable to PETA. See since the Overlord is an evil character doing evil things that makes it fine for him to do his evil tasks in the game. I suppose that is a logical argument, but really it just seems like splitting hairs. If you're going to be a stuck-up group who bitches a lot make sure you bitch at every chance you get, right?

Well... I guess if it's cool with them then it's cool with us! You heard it first: Clubbing seals is OK... if you're evil.

NOBODY BREAK THIS. THIS IS LOGIC.

Seriously. It isn't often a group uses "The character and plot of the game say it is okay" to stay cool with what they are trying to stop.

Clubbing baby seals to make cool hats out of, finally, something me and PETA can both agree on.

PETA kills most of the animals they rescue so I'm not surprised.

Now I know what to do next time I'm around baby seals. All I have to do is admit to being evil and it will all be good

Those animal huggers hippies ares such bitches. I'm against killing animals for fun, but if it's in games, it's ok.
I think that in OverlordIII(maybe in the future) you'll be able to rape the seals.

They're probably saying that because they couldn't dummy up a satirical violent parody game about seals in time.

So according to be it's OK to do evil things as long as you're evil?

"Oh no! Jason Voorhes just killed 20 kids, 5 puppies, the Pope and the President of the US!"

"That's OK with us! He was evil!"

That's strange, PETA usually take every opportunity to get even a little publicity.

I must have woken up in a parallel universe.

I was just wondering if PETA ever commented on RE5's dog/goat slaughtering, I guess that was ok because evil Africans did it......

......oh my now I understand, this game is an interspecies racial sh*tstorm !

But seriously PETA, grow up get a life and do something about REAL animal cruelty if you care so much about animals. Peace out on interactive entertainment please

"If you're going to be a stuck-up group who bitches a lot make sure you bitch at every chance you get, right?"

You know what's funny is that for all the supposedly annoying stances PETA takes on things, all I ever really notice are gaming blogs bitching about PETA. It's like a weird little club or something. Who cares!? Besides, every time you do bitch about PETA, you're actually just giving their message free publicity (no value judgment on my part whether their message is good or bad).

I was completely shocked when the guy presenting Overlord II to me said PETA was happy about how the baby seal clubbing was shown. He mentioned it had to do with the fact the Seals had helmets and threw fish back at you when you tried to club them, giving the Seals a defense, which PETA applauded. Because in real life, Seals don't wear helmets and don't throw fish at you.

Honestly, this is craziness!

However, I look forward to killing Pandas, those things are EVIL!

PETA statement:

Not only is "Picking on others weaker than you" in the instructions for Whack-a-Seal, it's also the name of Canada's seal slaughter game. PETA is pleased that Whack-a-Seal is drawing attention to Canada's annual seal slaughter, during which sealers beat and skin hundreds of thousands of baby seals every year for products that are now banned in the U.S. and in Europe. In real life, seals don't have helmets and can't fight back, but perhaps you'll soon see PETA-made helmets for baby seals in Canada.

Clubbing seals are so awesome. They always know where to find the hottest girls, and their moves are so cool that everyone ends up copying them.
