Club Nintendo item puts music on a SD memory card photo

I never liked Star Trek, but I do remember seeing at least one Star Trek film awhile back. Near the end of that one, I remember seeing one character play some classic rock from some kind of miniature storage media. I also remember being totally amazed by the thought, hoping we'd see something like that in the future.

Well, the future is now... for Japanese Club Nintendo members. The bastards that get everything cool also get this SD card packed with musical goodness. Even though this almost seems to promote piracy, you can't deny the Do Want-ness of this exclusive Club Nintendo item. Brett Martin sends along pictures of this Nintendo Music Collection, packed with 128mb of musical goodness.

His forum post says that he needs a bit more Japanese training to read the card contents, so I'll help him out. The card contains songs from:

  • Super Mario Sunshine
  • Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
  • Catch! Touch! Yoshi!
  • Nintendogs
  • Mario Kart: Double Dash
  • Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
  • Pikmin 2
  • Super Mario Bros

Even though it's been said a million times already, I really wish we had our own Club Nintendo. I'd kill for most of the stuff they get.

[Thanks, Brett]

Man, we get Reggie, who has the most annoying speech patterns I've ever heard in a press conference and uses them to mock Europe, and they get a club with exclusive goodies? Fuck.

Wii-branded SD cards are standard Sandisk cards at double price. That said, other than the Nintendo branding and a few MP3s, I too fail to see the novelty in this other than the obvious collector's value.

Okay, someone please name the Star Trek movie, because I can't think of a Star Trek film that ends with someone playing music off miniature storage media. First Contact ended with a jukebox playing, but I don't think that's it...

I'M A NERD, HUMOR ME.

I'd love to get Wii/Mario-branded SD cards just for the logos, but I refuse to pay out the ass for them. Still, most Club Nintendo stuff is cool.

Why I'm stupid:

It took me awhile to see mario's face. I thought it was a crab claw mixed with a scorpion's tail, or something.

Why didn't they send out CD-ROMs?

No thanks... I'll stick to my overpriced Star Points to Wii Points we have here in the EU.

Sure it's a rip off, and they keep running out of metaphysical Wii Point Codes, but hey - After buying over 20 Wii games, it's good to know I can buy 2 or 3 NES games...

I'll be over her. Crying.

"I'll be over her. Crying."

That sounds bad, but because this isn't Digg, Fark, or 4Chan; there might be hope in adding an 'e' in there, somewhere.

Yeaaah, I'll have to agree with Electro Lemon. Anyone here pretty much knows the amount of material that is not on the internet and not readily available to not download... If I was going to jam out to some Nintendo tunes the last thing I'm going to do is listen on my DS. But maybe thats just me.

I'm sorry, I was complaining about NOA specifically in relation to the original Japanese company. Anyone who's complaining about NOA in general is welcome to move to Australia and see why NOA isn't so bad.

I wonder if they are going to release SDHC Memory Cards because I thin it has a high capacity advantage.
