Cloudbuilt looks like it was developed in my dreams

As a general rule, I keep a skeptical view of games currently in the developmental stage. It's important to curb expectations, because after all, trailers are created to make something look good. But this trailer for the upcoming indie PC game Cloudbuilt looks just plain awesome, and after seeing it in action for a few seconds, you'll probably see why.

I'm a sucker for games with open spaces like Mirror's Edge (particularly the abstract DLC trial maps) and Gravity Rush, and this looks like a mix of both, with some Mega Man thrown in for good measure. The soundtrack, art style, and gameplay all seem to come together to create a captivating prospect -- I just hope the final product delivers.

Cloudbuilt is currently on Steam Greenlight if you're interested.

Review: Cloudbuilt

When you seemingly combine Mirror's Edge, Mega Man and a Gravity Rush aesthetic by way of color pencils, my ears perk up. I did not know what I was getting myself into. Cloudbuilt is hard. Like, real hard. When this review wa...more

Get off of my cloud: Cloudbuilt coming to Steam in March

Chris Carter's Cloudbuilt preview rocketed it onto my radar. Thankfully, the gorgeous, parkour-filled action platformer won't keep us waiting long. It's coming to Steam next month, March 20, as this unnecessarily short video shows. It looks a bit like sci-fi Gravity Rush done up in color pencils. I can't wait. I also can't wait for Gravity Rush 2.more

Cloudbuilt: It's like Mega Man & Mirror's Edge had a baby

When I first saw Cloudbuilt, I fell in love with the art style. It was pretty much heaven in my mind, with gorgeous aerial views mixed with sketch-heavy visuals. It helps that the gameplay looks like a solid mixture of parkou...more

A while ago I brought a game called Cloudbuilt to your attention, and I called it a cross between Mega Man and Mirror's Edge. It looks like it's been gaining some steam, as Rising Star Games (who published No More Heroes in E...more

Canabalt 2.0 brings more modes and multiplayer to iOS

For the most part, I'm over endless runners, but I'll always have Canabalt. It hit at the right time and holds up well. Matter of fact, it's gotten even better with age: there's a free new update for the iOS version, out now,...more

Platformer Freedom Planet borrows from the Sega Genesis greats
