Last week the internet gave Zynga sh*t for biting a bit too much off Tiny Towers for their new game Dream Heights. As you'd imagine, NimbleBit, a three-person company, was not pleased to see that the social gaming monster had stolen from them. Keep in mind that Zynga had previously tried to buy up NimbleBit. Shameless!
Now the fun continues with a new accusation from Buffalo Studios. They feel that Zynga Bingo looks a lot like their Bingo Blitz. A graphic shows a side-by-side view of the two games, and in it Buffalo shows just how similar the two games are.
"Please tell your thousands of employees and shareholders that we hope they enjoy playing the games we're cooking up next," zings Buffalo in the graphic.
Did Zynga not consider that Bingo Blitz has 1 million daily players, and that someone might notice? I guess they are at the point that they can clone whatever they would like to.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
It's not like Bingo Blitz is the first game to offer player levels and prizes.
Also, MyFarm
Holy shit.
Someone needs to stop Zynga...Now, before they completely squash out hard working small development companies trying to make an honest buck.
...but I have to wonder...
...if the shoe was on the other foot, would Zynga have taken legal action against these blokes by now?
...and if the answer is yes, are they not the biggest bastards in gaming history?
FarmTown/Ville are not even in the same league as Harvest Moon.
now its just lame
Take a look at the chart they put together. Clearly there's more going on with this version of Bingo than the one your grandma plays, and Zynga copied it screen for screen.
I completely agree that they look similar but compare those screens to other iPhone game with unlocks, rewards, and player levels and they're all going to look similar.
Yes, the power-ups window, send gifts window, and all the other windows looks similar here. Just like they do with a ton of *other* games. These layouts seem to have become pretty common amongst games in general where you can spend real money.
fucking disgrace really.
I've heard bulldog lawyers don't come cheap & Zynga probably has an entire team of them on staff. They all appear at the press of a button, just like Mr. Burns' legal team.
