Clock Tower on its way to the big screen photo

I know, part of me wants to be excited too. However, it seems Variety Entertainment has confirmed that Clock Tower will be adapted for the screen, but that it will be produced by Marco Weber (Igby Goes Down) and directed by Martin Weisz (The Hills Have Eyes 2). That combo is like giving me a cup of steaming, delicious tea with a little bit of poo stirred in, but maybe Weber will take the upper hand. (I hope.)

The story will be majorly based on Clock Tower 2: The Struggle Within, in which the female protagonist finds she is locked in a mental hospital suffering a curse that has plagued her family for ages. Shooting starts in July of this year. What do you think, Dtoid -- could be good, or will likely follow the trend of mutilating games we love into films we groan over?

At least it's not another Boll masterpiece ...

This could make a great movie IMO - and 2 was probably the best game. Looking forward to it

I'm not sure about this one. I've only played clock tower for SNES and PS1 so my knowledge beyond those is limited. I don't remember the stories being so compelling but when It wanted to be creepy it did a good job. Btw delicious tea w/ a lil poo stirred in is a fantastic analogy!

Maybe if the guys that directed the first The Hills Have Eyes maybe but the second sucked, and sucked hard. But they have a solid story to work with, so its going to be a rental either way.

The hills have eyes 2 was like watching a person with Parkinsons try to hang a picture frame.

Infuriating and depressing.

Igby goes down was an awesome book, I only caught the end of the movie but it seemed right. Clocktower could be great if done correctly.

I've only played Clock Tower 4 on the Ps2, but I thought it was scary as hell and a good game overall. I really didn't like The Hills Have Eyes 2 though. I don't plan on even shaking my hopes out of bed for this one.

Hmmm... If it's going to be shitty, best be it based on ClockTower 2. Just don't mess with the original SNES and the sequel on PS1... Scissorman RULES.

Hey Collette you know NEX right? How's he doing and what's he doing? Awhile back I said he should be writing for The New York Times or Time Magazine.

This upsets me. Not as much as when I heard Boll was directing Alone In The Dark back in the day, but this is up there. Prepare for another crapfest.
