Sony lovers hoping to get there dirty hands on Gears of War are in for their millionth disappointment, with lead designer Cliff Bleszinski confirming that there's "zero chance" of the series ever coming to the PS3. A Microsoft-published series remaining exclusive to Xbox 360? Say it ain't so!

"I would say in the foreseeable future there's zero chance of Gears of War being on the PlayStation 3," he told Industry Gamers. "Can we bury that now? Seriously. It's like, we have a great deal with Microsoft, they're a great partner ...

"It’s one of those things that would be exciting news. Hopefully DualShock would get tweaked a little bit, but anyway, enough about that."

You can't have an exclusive game without endless rumors of an eventual multiplatform release. Sometimes it pays off, such as the case with BioShock, Mass Effect and of course, Vampire Rain. Sometimes, it never happens. I think it's safe to say that Microsoft has put its stamp firmly on the Gears series and won't let that goldmine go.
