Gears of War rubbed me the wrong way, after 1 hour of co-op with a buddy I just had to quit playing...I hated it, lol.

Can't say I care, at all. As some other people have said, I'd be interested in a Halo on the PS3 (but that'll never happen), but I don't give two shits about Gears.
And I actually prefer the PS3 controller. I think sticks that aren't aligned are dumb. Like, I own BlOps on the PS3, and when I went to play with a friend on his Xbox, I was horrible because of the damn controller.

it's funny how the only people who ask for games exclusive to other consoles are ps3 owners. you never hear wii/360 owners ask for games exclusive to other consoles - especially in terms of ps3(well probably because besides Demon's Souls there's nothing worth getting from my experience and we're still getting much supperior sequel as multiplatform release).

Not every title. Just mindless impulse buy titles that sell 5 million+ on every console they're released on the first day. Many other popular titles like Batman, Street Fighter, and Bayonetta even that still sell a million plus, but over a longer time period sell more copies on PS3 than on the litterbox.

The Gears of War games are brilliant, but any fans should definitely read the books by Karen Traviss, she's written the story for Gears 3 and the books are amazing!!!!

Gears is the only series I miss having a 360 for, but I'm still not about to go buy a new console just for those games. I'll just play them at a friend's house (GotY version of 1 and regular version of 2 cost me a grand total of about $10).

Btw I use my ps3 controllers more and I'm fine with them, but I agree that they could be so much better with thumb indentations, better grips, and concave triggers.

I like Gears, it's the game that made me buy a 360 years back, but just let Microsoft keep it. Sony has plenty of 1st party titles, while Microsoft lacks in comparison. Take away Gears, and they only have Halo left.

Opinions, people have them, sometimes they differ. Most people appreciate the 360 controller because it is the evolution of the Dreamcast controller, considered by many to be the best.
Personally I prefer the 360 controller for plenty of reasons: Its heavier (doesnt feel like a toy), it feels better in the hands because it has a less stiff design,the unaligned thumb sticks (this is actaully a positive on my end), the indention on the thumb-sticks, the actual triggers and not trigger-like buttons, etc.
Though the Dual Shock does have the better D-pad, so there's that.

Don't really mind since the people in Gears scare me. But I'd like to see more Epic games. That tech demo they did a couple of months ago has me intrigued. I'd like to see some Vita stuff too.
Seems like Cliffy B never played a PS1 and jumped to the XBOX360 after developing almost exclusively for PC. Me, I have no problems with the Dualshock. Always had a PlayStation as a kid.

how can people honestly say that they don't like the dual shock because their thumbs touch? just how exactly are you holding that thing? the only way I can think that is possible is if you are controlling the sticks with the insides of your thumbs and why would you want to hold it like that? I will give the 360 controller one thing though, the indented sticks and having a touch more resistance in them is nice, but for everything else the dual shock is superior.
Why is this even a subject of interest? Gears is a Microsoft franchise, so who was expecting it to even hit PS3?

i'm wondering if anyone has actually thought about their complaints about dualshock. what they need is more space between the 2 sticks; increased the width of the controller ._.

Eh. Doesn't really affect me one way or another. Not saying Gears is bad or good, but it's never interested me at all.
I feel like the series is just a generic corridor shooter anyway. There are invisible walls everywhere that force you along one path. I sure am sad it's not coming to PS3. Uh-huh.
