Earlier today, game designer Cliff Bleszinski told MTV Multiplayer that he's opted to drop his world-renowned nickname, "CliffyB." The reasoning behind this controversial decision? He says it's "time to grow up a bit."
While I respect Cliff's choice (it is his name after all), I can't exactly see gamers calling him by his full name any time soon; nicknames are easily earned, but nearly impossible to lose.
That's why I'm proposing we meet him halfway by instead reffering to Cliff as "The Designer Formerly Known As CliffyB." Who's with me?
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

This is that last industry where anyone needs to grow up. I mean, everybody's got 3 online names, a Gamertag, forum handles and blah blah. This industry was built on giving people the opportunity to have nicknames. Weak sauce, Clifford. I always like it when industry dudes have nicknames. That's why Major Nelson is so popular.
You know he actually just got tired of the ladies screaming OH CLIFFYB in bed. It makes him feel like a wimp. He wants the ladies to make him feel more manly. What Cliffy wants, Cliffy gets.
I bet the people he works with ragged on him religiously for having a stupid nickname made for the media hype surrounding Gears of War. Can you imagine a meeting with a bunch of suits and there is CliffyB, the misunderstood "hip" game designer. I can hear the snickers from here.
