Clicking with Hoodwink
What's with all these adventure games cropping up all over the place? It's almost like people still love these games or something. Well, until somebody warns the developers I shall keep enjoying them. The latest potential avenue for my enjoyment is an intriguing title called Hookwink; a delicious, almost edible, looking cell-shaded adventure game from E-One Studio. Apparently it harkens back to the days of yore, when adventure games were played from Lands End to John O'Groats (or Florida to Maine if you'd rather). Pointing and clicking is promised, along with tough puzzles and weird characters. So there's this thief, right? And he's in love with a dame, but a mean ol' corporation is gettin' all up in his business. There are also chocolate loving robots. It's certainly piqued my interest. It's out now exclusively for PC, and is unfortunately exclusive to Origin. Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)Yay! New adventure game! This just makes my day, where is my wallet ima go buy it right nn.........
ORIGIN?!?! WTF! You know for all the games that get remake, perhaps some enterprising individual can get the rights and start putting a fresh coat of paint on some old classic adventure games. If they charged a fair price (imo $5 would be a pretty damn compelling sweet spot, ide probably gift 5 of those a month depending on the title) there could be a market.
I liked what they did with Monkey Island. Some call that "marathoning." Survival horror games are especially satisfying when played this way. I've done this with all of the Fatal Frame and Silent Hill titl...

5:00 PM on 05.14.2013 Review: Reef ShotI've never been scuba diving, though I imagine it can be quite the relaxing affair. Checking out the reefs, the fish, and just marveling at what is essentially a whole other world sounds pretty wonderful. It would stand to re...
