Civilization V gets Spain and Inca next week photo

On December 16, Civilization V will get its next batch of paid downloadable content: Spain (Isabella), Inca (Pachacuti), and a new scenario, all bundled together for $7.49.

The scenario is a 1492 "voyage across the Atlantic in search of a western route to China and the Indies." Theoretically, you can queue up "A Whole New World" from Aladdin to blast through your speakers and energize you across your treacherous journey. The in-game music is fine too, I guess.

I always enjoy covering these games, because it A) forces me to remember learning about history in school and the once-suppressed memories that follow, and B) sends me on a spiraling Wikipedia journey that ends with me reading about something gross.

What I really hope for is the big patch they announced awhile back.

Yeah it seems pretty ghetto that they've done all this DLC without actually patching a lot of major issues like the piss poor AI

That's because the DLC was made with the game and stripped out to be sold later.
The patch is work now.

@Shoop

Yea that is pretty ghetto. The game is nigh unplayable for extended period of time (Try playing anything outside of normal length and standard 4 player map sizes and you'll start chugging as you approach the industrial era)

It's really quite sad. One of the few games I pre-ordered and greatly anticpated. By far the greatest disappointment of the year for me.

Instead of actually fixing their atrocious gameplay (multi/single) they milk DLC. Fuck it, I'm done with this piss ass franchise.

yeah i could buy that dlc..or i could just donwload some mods for free, which show much more love for the game then those money milking attemps.
And before i'd get myself in the stupidity to buy those DLCS, i would go and play CIV4

Elect this man our leader. His computer is powerful, apparently.

This game does require a pretty beefy computer. I mean you have to upgrade your bucket SOMETIME soon right?

ftr, the only "lag" i get is playing on massive maps with 17-20 other civs during the modern era...and this with a 3 year old PC.

Something for everyone to take into account before buying: thus far, the last two DLC civilizations made available (Babylon and Mongolia) do NOT function with multiplayer. Don't know how, or why, but no one can play with the civs they've bought, with other people.

@ Nzdjh

Shitty computer? I have a top-end rig custom built 4 months ago in anticipation for playing SC2 maxed out. I'm not talking about actual lag, I'm talking about inter-turn lag. The scripting for this game is atrocious, they clearly know nothing about multi-core programming.

@Nzdjh,

You're an idiot who obviously doesn't have a clue how video games or computers work. But yeah the game works absolutely great which is why Firaxis admitting to having problems which they are trying to fix.

So stupid.
