Civilization Revolution demo hits XBLA and PSN tomorrow photo

Been waiting with bated breath since Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword for a new taste of Sid Meier's ridiculously acclaimed strategy series? Never fear, the newest title in the series is just around the corner with a release date of June 8th, but you can check out the demo starting tomorrow on XBLA and PSN if you live in North America.

What do you get to do in the demo? Here's a summary:

As for the demo's contents, players will be able to assume either Caesar's laurel wreath as the head of Rome or Cleopatra's crook and flail as Egypt's pharaoh. Players can either play against the game's computer-controlled opponents up to 1250 AD or head online to battle it out with human opponents over the same time period. The demo also comes packed with a tutorial for those unfamiliar with Civilization's turn-based gameplay.

Not bad at all. Also, Civ fans should keep an eye trained on Destructoid in the next few weeks, as there just might be a contest with some extremely limited edition goodies coming your way soon. Stay tuned.

I've been really looking forward to this game. Hopefully it translates well to the console.

You'd think Samit would've written this, given the outright use of "bated breath" lol Huzzah to companies not completely forsaking demos!

can the pstriple use mouse and keyboard? Cause no matter how streamlined they make an RTS for a console it's still better to play them with the mouse

I think she means XBL Marketplace, not Arcade. XBLA's become sorta synonymous with the Live Marketplace.

Woo. I'm looking forward to checking this out. I love the Civ series, and I'm interested to see how they can make it work on a console.

http://www.game-releases.net lists this game as being out on 7/7 for NDS but nothing about 360 or PS3. And gamestop lists it as being out for 360/PS3/NDS on 7/8. Are you sure it's supposed to be out 6/10?

it's out here in europe next week, I've had it preordered for a month or so. the big problem is that I'll probably not even play it before the US crowd gets a hold off it - MGS4 definitely has priority and I can see myself playing some Civ:Rev for months to come anyways..
