Civ V: Gods and Kings standalone demo is now on Steam photo

Even though Civilization V: Gods and Kings is technically a DLC add-on to the original Civ V, you can now play the Gods and Kings demo on Steam as a standalone experience.

In case you're wondering what's different, Gods and Kings adds nine new civilizations, new wonders, and new scenarios/units (including one scenario that basically recreates the beginning of Gladiator).

The re-addition of religions alone is what sparked my interest in the game, and I have to say, I'm really enjoying it. Also, Neuschwanstein!

Civilization, XCOM dev doing its own fan convention

Firaxicon sounds like an expensive drug for lumberjacks. Or a bad sci-fi original film. But it's actually a new convention put on by Firaxis, developer of the Civilization games and the recent, real good XCOM reboot...more
