I may or may not have gotten my Rock Band review kit yet (I'll let you know if I did on November 19!), but we know someone who has! Destructoid reader AltDelete wrote in to let us know that he has it, and you don't ... thanks to Circuit City:
I went to my local Circuit City (1670 East Camelback Road, in Phoenix) to pick up Super Mario Galaxy, and lo and behold I saw boxes for Rock Band! I grabbed one for myself, and took some unboxing pictures. If you're in the area, give them a call and see if any are left!
I know, I know -- pictures or it didn't happen. He sent those in, too. So who's jealous, and why aren't you on the phone with your local Circuit City right this second? Congratulations, AltDelete, you're famous ... and now jealous gamers hate you, too!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I can has audition for drummer? XD
Called my local store...no go.
Ah, old East Camelback road. At my job we recently finished working on a case there where some kid got hit by a car because he thought he could ride his bike into the middle of the street where there was no crosswalk during rush hour traffic. Sad times.
On point:
What is with this rash of release date breaking lately? Any why aren't the companies doing anything about it? If I remember right (and it was a while ago, so I may be remembering entirely incorrectly), back when I was a young lad the Mortal Kombat II street date got broken by some retailer and there was a shitstorm. Threatened lawsuits, big magazine stories about it, vows that whatever store it was would never sell video games again. Do companies just not give a shit anymore? Do they actually like it because it hypes up the product?
If I didn't have $60 down on it at GameStop (and a stack of trade-ins to go towards it), I'd be frantically rushing to every nearby store that would sell it.
Has GameStop ever broken a street date? :D
Well... one time my local Burger King broke the street dates for Sneak King and the lot!.... better then nothing I guess.
too bad im broke as shit.
hype definitely has something to do with it, IMHO. PR is everything these days, especially considering that two years ago i hardly knew there was any gaming PR to speak of, and now i read about it on blogs every single day.
WHTSFF
WHY MUST YOU SHOW UP EVERYWHERE AND REMIND US!!!
street dates ftl.
kthxbai.
Tell me, can you have sex with blue, alien, nerd-chicks in Rockband?
I thought not.
I hope they get the pants sued off of them
The drumming is pretty cool.
Unless they've opened a new one recently the closest Zia's to there is at 19th Ave and Indian School. Which actually isn't that far, I guess.
If I didn't have Mass Effect. :)
I kinda don't want Rock Band...but I totally wanna play the drums on it. I'm a drummer, and I know I could kick that games ass on expert right away.
Their motto is "If you can afford it, screw it!"...ok. Lemme link you to my paypal account rich boys.
Circuit City focuses more on movies music and technology; that's where I bought Bioshock at. They had it in the back, but I got a clerk from the music section to check (and grab it) for me; and then the cashier's register even said "Preorder: Don't sell until XX"...she asked if it was supposed to be out ("yes") and sells.
Her philosophy was brilliant: It is right here. In my hands. Obviously, the game is out.
