Chuck E. Cheese's Kart Racing coming to Wii photo

That right there is a photo of me celebrating my 27th birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's. It was a depressing, miserable experience, watching children mindlessly pump tokens into ticket redemption scams so they could walk out the door with a piece of plastic worth less than fifty cents.

Now, UFO Interactive will bring the experience of child exploitation into your home! A listing has cropped up on GameFly for a kart racing game based on the Chuck E. Cheese's license. Yes. This is a real thing that is scheduled for release in late October.

Thing is, they've more or less gotten rid of all the characters in the Chuck universe. Last time I was there, I didn't see anyone other than the titular mouse and the stage show was stripped down to just him. Who the hell else are they going to have playable? And why do I care?

If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go and drown myself in a bathtub now. Things like this just prove that life isn't worth living anymore.

Hey! Chuck E Cheeses can be badass if you're a thrifty spender.

25c Turtles 2 on easy mode = 45 minute playthrough on one credit. The other Chucks I've been too have Bucky O' Hare Arcade, the Punisher, and X-Men Arcade: all on easy mode for one quarter. That's badass!

That picture is priceless, Conrad! =)
A Chuck E. Cheese racing game?! What the fuck? Featuring who? You're right, they rid themselves of most of the cool, albeit wacky, characters I remembered as a kid. So, I wonder who the hell the racers will be?
A new Chuck E. Cheese opened up, near my place in Nor Cal. My sister took her two little ones there and I decided to go along. Boy, was I extremely super disappointed. Gone were the cool mini-rides, classic arcade games, mini-marionette shows and the creepy/cool Pizza Time Theater. Left was one lonely, still creepy, rat on a small stage and greasy, cardboard pizza. What have they done?! My nieces will never, ever know the win that was Chuck E. Cheese. I guess the Nolan Bushnell era of Chuck E. Cheese has long since passed. =`(
Things change.

Well only stores with the show called Studio C got rid of the physical bots in the restaurant... but even at those locations they still appear in puppet form. There ARE still some locations out there with all 5 of the characters.(Jasper, Helen, Mr. Munch and Pasqually) So this game DOES have potential... Mainly kids but also the older fan base... like us from showbizpizza(dot) com! It can't be any worse than when these systems release games from shows like Spongebob Squarepants or Dora The Explorer for kids!

Well I'm really sorry to hear that man. That must be one of the most awful experiences anyone can have. To be honest though, I do think it's just something for the kids and that your friend is right.

It is a short game, but you have to wonder if making it longer would seriously improve it,

or if it would end up dragging it down if they ended up doing things like reusing ideas. In

any case, the real test of that will be when Portal 2 comes out, and we see just how far

the concept can go. But as a first game when considering all the aspects of it, like the

fact that it was released as a component of The Orange Box, and it isn't terribly expensive

as a stand-alone product, I'd say that its damn near perfect.
