Chrome your DS Lite, gold teeth optional photo

The Nintendo DS is such a popular game system that even with the new crimson red DS Lite on the way, it's hard to have your beloved game system stand out from the crowd. If you don't mind a little bit of modification, this upgrade will definitely catch some eyes.

Consoleshop has this Shock! case for the DS Lite, which decks out the system in "Magnum Chrome" after modification. For $39.95, customers get the chrome colored casing (ABS plastic), battery compartment cover, all buttons and sliders, a GBA cover, and screwpads.

Gamers brave enough to crack open their DS Lite can order their kit from Consoleshop now.

That's exactly what I was thinking ninjon. It still looks cool, though.

As soon as I get a DS, 360, and a Wii that place is going to send me further into debt. They have cases for just about every current system and controllers! I want to have a clear Wiimote so bad.

Glad this got some more coverage. I should have struck a deal with that site for that plug, I can't even get on there now.

I'm just getting into modding. When I was a kid I would be so pissed when I would buy a new console or gameboy only for a new awesome looking one to come out a week later. Now I'm a little more dexterous and brave I can just bust open the case and stick a new one on.

I guess the DS is a little easier to mod and I still get little problems every time I mod something(My PS2 memory card flaps don't close and my friend's sync button on his 360 pad is missing) but practice makes perfect. Who knows maybe I'll be the next Ben Heckendorn haha.

Could you hypothetically blind your opponents in Tetris using it as a mirror to reflect sunlight into their eyes? Then you could justify the cost by saying it gives you a performance edge!
