Time for some more holiday cheer! Check out this lighting display that has been set in time with the beautiful "16 Melodies" from the Mother 3 soundtrack.
AwesomeHouseLights has been taking requests for songs to get the lighting treatment for quite some time, and every now and then, a videogame tune pops up. Why, just last year, the Metal Gear Solid 2 theme was given some love!

MGS3 is the only game ending to make me cry in-game. However I did cry to the "To Good Friends" song from Chrono Trigger simply by going back and listening to it on youtube one day. Can't wait to someday play Mother 3 I hear its amazing.
@Nukacola. I feel you my brother, as the only two games to make me weep were those two as well. The stirring music at the end of MGS3 and the context did it, and the audio alone in Mother 3 can get me.
This series has been around for like 20 years, you've had plenty of chances. Stop with the Skyrim talk and go download Earthbound Zero,
At least Nintendo got the games made in the first place. Don't just complain and wait for them to drop it in yr lap cause it won't happen . Sometimes you have to go digging for the real good shit. Ithink MOTHER will always be a bit underground, and I like it that way, but there's no excuse for not trying them if you are aware they exist.
What a coincidence, because that's precisely how old I am right now.
Besides, the reason why I'm waiting for an official release instead of downloading an emulator is because if I play the ROMs, then I'll have no reason to purchase the actual games. Nintendo only listens to money, so I want Nintendo to hear me loud and clear when I say that people want this game to be released for the international public.
I thought this was going to be the chocolate/peanut butter of things and someone finally synchronized their lights to some mother fuckin' Danzig. Turns out it was just to some song from some game white people play when they're not wishing they were Japanese and/or embracing a body pillow with the image of some underage schoolgirl with nightmarishly large breasts. Whatever. I'm gonna go back to shopping for kitty litter. Fucking Obama.
I agree but I sadly think you will be waiting for a long time.
Actually when you think about it if Nintendo already censored Earthbound when they localizedit, but when Mother 3 got the fan-made english patch it received a very faithful translation.
Anyways I really hope you get to play them soon because they are awwwwwesome. I really think you should just download the roms but it can't be that hard to find a used snes and a copy of Earthbound. Trust me it is worth supporting and buying for 5bucks if it ever gets a virtual console release, even if you've already played it 100 times!
Yeah, but physically SNES copies of Earthbound are pretty damn expensive. If Earthbound never comes out for NA, I might as well just download the ROM, but I'm still holding out some hope that it'll be released. I mean, it isn't even on the Japanese Virtual Console. There's got to be a reason why.
While I mostly agree, I think you'll be waiting a long time, like maybe forever. Besides, Nintendo censored Mother 2 when they localized it, while the fan translation of Mother 3 was actually very faithful and crafted with REAL LOVE!
In any case, hopefully you decide to give them a go. They are worth buying again for 10 bucks if Nintendo ever does re-release them. Hell I'd pay pretty much whatever they charged just to support the games. Like you said, money talks.
At the very least, just find a cheap snes and a copy loose out of box on ebay or something, trust me it's worth it.
Nintendo has no clue how much money they'd make out like bandits with if America got a Earthbound/Mother collection. I think the reason they never give an answer for not releasing it is because then they'd be bombarded with replies debunking the reason.

its no where near as amazing as this one, skyrim's music doesn't even touch mother 3's
I wouldn't know. I've never even played Earthbound or Mother 3 because I never got the chance to. THANKS NINTENDO! D:<

This light show? Simply astonishing.

I dunno though I have a feeling this series will never really breakthrough to the masses. I'm not sure a re-release would sell much.
