also any police officer who belives games cause crime should be fired.
Duh .... violence isn't caused by videogames. It's caused by 3D movies, that extra 'D' confounds the brain and angrys up the blood.
we're not all idiots who take the bible as fact.
This is not the first time...
Also, they could ban this. I'd just read the COMIC BOOK SERIES IT WAS BASED OFF OF.
Thanks for another original article.
Or you know... real fucking life where cops are being busted for being crooked.
"There are no police officers in the game," replied 2K.
lmao. Well I suppose it's case closed?
Thanks for another original article."
QFT
"International Christian Police Fellowship"? the only world police i know is Interpol... and America.
I would assume the judicial system would take care of that, Jim.
Other than that, I don't get the "Christian" angle you're taking with this.
This sounds more like cops not wanted to be portrayed as "pigs". Yeah, good luck with that.
And the punch line in the original article is just awesome.
That being said, I never understand why people get so defensive and try to take the opposite extreme in these cases and pretend that violent games have absolutely no effect at all whatsoever on anyone. After all, we do have ESRB, PEGI etc to distinguish appropriateness of content. Logic dictates that your social environment has an affect on your behavior. Playing GTA once isn't going to make you a killer, but playing a whole whole lot might just push you a little closer. I don't think any of these people would tell you that violent movies are a great thing either. They just picked one thing to focus on.
Also, that last paragraph was a bullshit comment and was purely offensive and inflammatory.
Seeing that religion has been around since the dawn of civilization, while videogames have existed for, what, 35 years (?), there's only one appropriate response to that pie chart:
Well, DUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! While not compare videogames to alcohol, while at it?
Besides, it's missing the cross-section.
"To all the people getting riled up at Jim's last comment. Are you insinuating that Christian's DON'T believe in things without evidence?"
That's not at ALL what they are insinuating; faith is faith. Everyone believes things without evidence, some are just more picky on where to place the threshold.
The problem people have is that Jim is insinuating a policeman who is Christian is more inclined to "misjudge". That's insulting to both Christians AND Policemen, the targets of the joke.
I get it, but whiteknighting Jim is pointless here; he woudn't have made the joke if he didn't expect the reaction it got.
Thanks for another original article.
THIS^. Keep writing flamebait articles slamming Christianity, Jim. God has your grave perfectly prepared for you...
"Keep writing flamebait articles slamming Christianity, Jim. God has your grave perfectly prepared for you..."
As a Christan, you comment insults me more than anythin Jim has ever written.
This kind of behavior is exactly the reason people give us a bad image. Thanks for making God look like a jackass prick.
You wanna debate hemaneutics and eschatology with me?You have no clue, bro. Go try and get an education ABOUT God before you start slamming ppl who tell the truth!
But "commanderpoopypants"... no, I don't want to debate you on words you just looked up on google.
I hate getting into religious things with people, because its dumb, but I will say that making assumptions on what God's plans are for certain people makes you look like a fool.
...right, because going about telling your opponents that your God is reading their graves is how you "defend the faith". Preach on, brother Phelps.
Troll.
