Wow, this is really really creative... I never even THOGUHT of making a choose your own adventure in Cblog form!
great idea, i loved the steve jackson books as a kid, btw how do u hide all the seperate posts without there been 10 world 1-1 blogs in the blog contents page?
@TrevHead: Instead of hitting "publish to blog" its just a matter of hitting "save draft and preview", but there's still a lot of editing because I had to link to blogs that didn't exist yet! In my personal blogs section there are actual thirteen pages, but I wanted to make sure I didn't clog the blogs and push some great c-blogs down, so all but one are hidden.
@chrissmith9c: It took about four hours between conception and having all the pages posted! If you notice the time-stamp on many of the pages are drastically different.
I wish I could have gone into even more detail, though, as World 1-1 is so iconic, but trying to 'keep track' of certain power-ups would have probably doubled the number of blogs. Thanks for playing, everyone!

yeah, not to be a dick or anything, but this was taken from other sites... it's been around the internet for a while, guys.
I don't think the fact that it's a text-based Mario 'game' is special (I followed the link to the one Golden Avenger posted and it's faithfulness to the game makes mine look 'fair-to-middlin'). I personally got the inspiration for the text-based adventure style from the Zork-Inspired Pac-Man Game that RicMoo adapted into an actual game a while back. It was a dark spin on a normally chipper game (well, chipper for a game with ghost-eating in it), and the more I think about the Mushroom Kingdom, the more twisted it seems to me.
The thing that most people are wowed at is how this was done using the Cblogs. To my knowledge, the Cblogs hadn't been used in that way before, or at least not to that extent. I had the idea brewing for a bit, but didn't know what sort of Video-Game related adventure I could use. World 1-1 is so iconic (being around for about 25 years now) that it was almost a shoe-in. ArcticFox thought Oblivion would make a great one starting with: "Choose your Race/Gender" and proceeding through the rest of the game. I apologize in advance to all the faithful readers of the Community Blogs if this causes a meme. But if it does, make sure yours has a "Renegade Option" (or a poem, poem's are nice).
