As Ben PerLee and I have told you, you can do lots of crazy sh*t in Avalanche Studios’ Just Cause 2. It’s a sandbox game that looks like it’s aiming to be a more polished, more kick-ass version of Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. Pretty much all sandbox games allow you to mess around in the game world, doing whatever you want (like wreaking wanton destruction on the environment). But as you can see in the multi-path trailer above, Just Cause 2 is bringing that choice into the missions themselves, offering a variety of methods for you to accomplish in-game goals.
The trailer makes use of annotated YouTube videos, in the vein of Anthony’s ingenious Mad Dog McCree Gunslinger Pack review. You can begin by watching the video above, or heading to the game’s official YouTube channel. In this case, you’ve got three options to start with: flying in; driving in, guns blazing; or the stealth route. Each choice leads to the same “fork,” which offers four alternatives (one of which is particularly funny). Which path did you end up choosing?

Each choice ends with the same event of them getting her into a truck and driving away though (except for the joke one). I'm really looking forward to this game but I guess I would've liked the stealth option to reward you in some way, seems like a waste of time in that video.
Gotta be the coolest use of youtube for marketing to date. I remember when I was a kid I used to read those rpg books that had you jump from page to page depending on which choice you make. I always cheated and looked ahead tho.
The feature that looks fun is the ability to tether people/objects etc to other objects/vehicles etc. Picture this; ten enemies dangling from the back of the above-pictured fighter jet, doing loop-the-loops.
I've got one question: Is there a quicktime event every time you steal a vehicle? I know I saw one in one of their early trailers. That was one of the things I disliked most about mercs 2.
