Child's Play already brings in over $1 million photo

Evidently there are a lot of people out there who are better people than I am. Though I try to volunteer as often as I can, I have still not donated to Child's Play this year. However, a lot of people have and that makes them better people than me. So many people have donated that the Penny Arcade charity has raised $1,010,680.28 (this was as of Friday afternoon, so it's probably even higher now) and the main drive hasn't even ended yet.

The charity is hoping to beat its $1.4 million raised last year, and seems to be on schedule to do that. It probably helps that fundraisers such as the Desert Bus Marathon are bringing in record amounts this year as well. Everyone who has donated please pat yourself on the back for helping the world be a better place for sick children. Those who haven't donated yet, consider this a guilt trip: I'm donating a dollar right now. You should too.

For the longest time I've wanted to try to organize some kind of Rock Band marathon gaming sesh to rase some money for Child's Play. Unfortunately, I'm just one person, not to mention I'm not affiliated with anything resembling an important gaming group...unless you count you guys. But I'm just a user, nobody special.

Oh well. Maybe a few years down the road things'll be different.

I personally think the fact that they do this every year is a great thing for both the kids that it is helping and the public's view on gamers and the industry... Just saying. Maybe Bobby Kotick should take some time away from bathing in his money and throw some towards Child's Play.

It makes nervous when somebody saves up this much good karma. What are they going to spend it on I wonder?

That's how karma works, right?

My question is: Who donated the $0.28?
