Child of Eden hits PS3 September 23 (Update) photo

[Update: Ubisoft has given Child of Eden PS3 a September 20 release date in North America. Price will be $49.99, the same as the 360 version. Huh.]

Own a PS3? Been patiently waiting to try Child of Eden with PlayStation Move? Well, not only does today bring a release date, it also delivers glorious news of a highly reduced price. Child of Eden is coming to PS3 on September 23, and it'll cost a mere €19.99.

Obviously, that's the European price and date, but it's safe to assume that North Americans will get a similar launch window and a similarly cheap offer. We'll update as soon as we get those extra details!

WOOT! Can't freakin wait. Are they still planning the PS3 version to support 3D? Haven't heard anything about that in a while. This looks like one of those games that might benefit from it.

"similarly cheap offer" probably means that you will have to pay 19.99 dollars for it and we in Europe get stuck with a hihger price anyway :D.
Fuckin Europe

I just bought it for $30 im such a sap. I was waiting for it drop but was really excited to play it. Should have waited BLAST because if the PS3 version hits at a low price the 360 version is bound to.

I thought move would be better for this gale than kinect anyways.

After playing it on Kinect, I don't think this will be better on the Move at all, whilst holding the cumbersome Move remote.

Switching on the fly from tracer to octo-lock ammo by simply raising your left OR right hand is SO intuitive.

Damn, $20 is kind of a slap in the face to those who bought it on 360 for more than twice that just a few weeks ago.

It's currently 30 dollars for 360. This is why I never buy on launch day

Hmm so I have to choose from waving my left and right hand to shoot things or using a rifle attachment to make shooting feel a bit more realistic? That cumbersome move remote brought new life into fps for me so I guess I know which I'll pick. :)

Honestly, I'm not interested unless I find a Move-set for some ridiculously low price.

@killias2

Isn't this like the third thread in the past few days where I've seen you discussing getting a Move? Maybe it's time to just bite the bullet, broseph. I really like mine.

And @SayWord

I LOVE my Sharpshooter peripheral. However, I'm not sure this is the game for it. I'll try it with and without the Sharpshooter but I'm thinking just the Move by itself might be the way to go with this one.

Umm.. no..? I don't know who you have me confused with, but most of my recent comments have been about the online pass stuff, digital games, handhelds vs. mobiles, and a few random releases. I just looked to make sure, and I haven't said anything about Move for, well, as far back as I checked.

I'll be interested if I can find a complete set for like 50 bucks. Saving that, I won't be getting Move.

AHAHAHA, I knew it would drop in price soon, I bought it this past weekend for Xbox/Kinect. I hope they release a 3D patch that would be beyond amazing to play given how it can suck you in now, seems only Sony cares about 3D gaming, are you listening Microsoft!!!

I just bought a Kinect, while Dance Central is fun I just don't want to play something like Child of Eden with all that lag.

Sorry about then, could have sworn that was you. Anyway though, check your local used game store (not Gamestop)? I see quite a few of them used when I go in. I'm told it's because there weren't a lot of games supporting it at launch so people bought one and then didn't get much use out of it and traded it back in. So now that it's being supported more, it's a good time to snatch one of those up.

Child of Eden and KInect is the way to go - standard controller setup suck donkey balls and from what i've heard Move controls are even worse than controller to the point where it feels like Kinect exclusive.
having played Child of Eden several times already it's hard for me to see Move controls not only being intuitive, but fun. if it has different control scheme(and it probably will) with Move, it will completely destroy immersion and whole atmosphere this game has. playing this game with controller was bad enough.
in terms of the price 360 version of Child of Eden already costs about 25euros - i payed for my copy of the game about 35euros at launch. by the time ps3 version will be released you will easilly find 360 version for 15euros or less brand new.

@LaughPlayLive,
motion controlled title with 3D that require you to be completely still during playtime? yeah, makes complete sense. moreover Sony is pushing their terrible 3D because they want to sell you their crappy and overpriced TV sets.
@Red TheHaze Veron,
lag? i'm guessing you're trolling or didn't even play Dance Central/Child of Eden.

@Tristrix,
that's what i've heard and considering Move's lag, Child of Eden's control scheme and overall problems with Move controllers it's true. the difference between Move and standard controller will be that you'll be using move instead of analog sticks - everything else will be the same.

Oh Sofik, you so crazy. Never play a 3D game before? There's quite a few 3D and Move compatible games already, and they work fine. Killzone 3, for example. is 3D and Move compatible and really quite fun when played in that manner. I particularly enjoyed it with the Sharpshooter peripheral while playing in 3D. Very immersive. Good stuff.

Try looking for Move as a piecemeal - maybe you can find a cheap Move Wand, and PSEye.

@Red TheHaze Veron, you will notice no lag I promise you, seems gen2 Kinect games are catching on. And while a tech demo of a game, those who have touched Fruit Ninja Kinect have also said they noticed no perceivable lag what soever. I think Microsoft must have updated the 360's firmware at some point too, cuz I notice no lag when in the Kinect Hug, was that always the case since launch?

You are aware that Child of Eden plays the same as Rez(one of the best/most respected games of all time imo) with standerd controls? Its not unplayable by any means. Child of Eden does work quite well with Kinect though and gives another experience.

And move controllers should be fun. There won't be any lag and I'm sure they'll throw in some cool things.

@Andy: SC is at least seems to be positive most of the time. That I see him, anyway. It's the negativity. Can't we all just dig video games like bros? Why does there have to be the hate? /hippietime

Anyone who played Rez and doesn't realize this will absolutely be worth the 50 bucks is as big a tool as Sterling himself.
