NinjaPresident totally called this in the weekend recaps. Cool that it gets some front page love too. Neat little game. I really dig the art style.
I bought this game off XBLIG and never regretted it. It's a great, challenging platformer with surprising depth. Not only can you change the visual style, but changing the visual style actually brings an environment modifier with it (like slowing down platforms or slower enemies, for instance). Great game.

I don't know, I tried to care this year and there wasn't a single thing I wanted that I didn't have on the PC already or in my console backlog.
I know I don't speak for everyone, but this years sale didn't seem all that exciting.
As for Desura, is the only way to get the game to install it? Cause I hate to say, even for a free game, I feel like I want to pass due to a huge clutter of icons already raiding my taskbar.

This 100% off of the usual $9.99 price point is an attempt to build up as many of you delicious Chester fans as possible before Steam launches their Greenlight platform, where fan support will hopefully be able to finally get Chester onto Steam.
So, yeah, if you like it, vote for it when it goes on Greenlight!

It might be the only place to get it free, but Desura is a cool thing. It's like Steam for indie games. I use it a lot, but then again, indie bundles galore give me codes so it's easy to keep everything in one place (that's not on Steam). Also, it makes mods easy, so that's that.
