The Neptunia series deserves my money on concept alone. Sure, the execution may leave a bit to be desired, but it's awesome that games like this can even get localized at all.
Ugh even hearing about this still makes me sick. I played the first one and its without any doubt the worst RPG I have ever played. It's almost revolting that it even got a sequel.
I hope the sequel is worth playing. Everything I've heard from actual IRL players of the first made me not want to play it, despite my love of (mostly classic) jrpgs and the concept.
I enjoyed part 1. Though I will say this much, if part 2 has characters who are in your party, but are required to be bought as dlc in order to activate them to make them more than a picture in your party line up, I will be passing this game. That single thing took what was an enjoyable experience to me, and drove me up the wall with the annoyance of being slapped in the face by 2 characters that are, for all intents and purposes, in my party, but I can't use them without forking over cash to get that guest tag taken off them.
It is one thing to have party members as dlc, its quite another to have to look at potential party members every time you go to so much as tweak your healing set up, or check out a new piece of gear, and know they are nothing more than a tease to force you to go spend more money on the game. That isn't cool.

And it's girly crappy looking shit like this that makes Dark & Demons Souls the true excelent JRPG's of this console gen.

Hey, uh, why does the link redirect me to a Crunchyroll forum page? Don't get me wrong, I love me some Monogatari, but I would hardly call any of it's iterations a video game. Unless there's something in the forum posts I'm not quite seeing. Hold on let me check again...
I actually thought the first game wasn't that bad (aside from a couple of absolutely retarded game mechanics like the auto-item usage), though I'd never actually recommend it to anyone.

I would recommend it to people, but I will make sure they know what they are getting in to. Don't believe the reviews, this game has a grand total of 1 to 3 mature situations, and they are done comically. The entirety of the rest of the game is nothing but slap stick comedy with loads of older game references. Also would describe the bad things. If you like anime, if you like comedy, you would probably enjoy this game if you can handle a few annoying gameplay mechanics.
As for part 2, will be interesting if they can attain the same lv of comedy they did in part 1. I have a feeling it will be hard to do.

it was a great game but it was pretty flawed. some mechanics worked while some didn't but it wasn't really that bad of a game + it wasn't sold at 60$ for standard edition. i gots me a limited :)
@Jaysky0 the makers of the Stein's Gate VN(5pb)have a playable mascot character for the game...I think she uses the characters in her special attacks as I also saw *Okarin Mad Scientist voice* KURISUTINA!
