Word on the street is that if you preorder Brütal Legend from Best Buy, you can get your dirty hands on this ridiculously awesome record sleeve. Most of you children will be too young to remember the good old days, when music was confined to this thing called vinyl that was the size of a pizza and played music in the way it should be played -- with a persistent and consisting crackling noise and a an irritating skip of the track if someone stamped their feet too hard.
Destructoid reader Mark took some swanky pictures for us and now we're sharing them with you. Check them out and let us know what you think. I must say that, as a man who appreciates a good LP, I'm very tempted to pick this up myself. The sleeves can be used a game case, you know.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
For anyone wanting to know, I procured this one at a Best Buy in Ft. Collins, Colorado.
I can confirm this. I was browsing in there the other day and spotted it on the store shelves, so I grabbed it along with their preorder bonus for Tekken 6 (a laser art cel and tattoo sleeve). Of course, I already had those preordered at Gamestop for their preorder bonuses, but Best Buy is awesome because you can get your preorders refunded without returning the bonuses. So if you've got it preordered elsewhere, go preorder it for the record sleeve and then get that money refunded when you inevitably get something else this fall like Modern Warfare 2.
Isn't that cheating?
This will be so god damn epic in my collection!
SOLD! Even without the LP inside.
Exactly my plans, I'm heading there today, can I get my money refunded thought? Or am I forced to put the money on another game?
Dude, it was a joke. I'm like, one of the youngest writers on staff.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Um, technically it is, but I've never really been a fan of giving different preorder bonuses to different stores to satisfy the store owners, so I'm fine with doing what I do in order to get multiple bonuses. The important thing in my mind is that I buy the game for full price instead of waiting for it to drop (or pirating it like some people will). Besides, I highly doubt those bonuses are worth much more than the sentimental value I attach to them.
@ chronoswing
Really depends, but I'm sure Best Buy would be happier (re: less dirty looks or less likely to ask for the preorder bonus back) if you put it towards another game.
I've heard people say it alot and I'm starting to sort of agree that vinyl is making an underground comeback. And newer bands like LoG and Mastodon putting out there new albums on vinyl along with a CD copy is a great idea and is for sure worth $25.
DEATH TO ALL FALSE METAL!
