Can anyone confirm this is what best buy is doing for their preorder bonus? I will be there later today and if this is true I will definatly be preordering
I was actually gonna go and pre-order this from Best Buy, but that's really lame if it's just an actual record sleeve with no album. Eh, still looks cool I reckon'.
I second that pascuz. Where's the fucking vinyl!? Bands still put albums out on vinyl to this very day, and I actually own more records than CDs, so it seems odd that they wouldn't press any of that sweet, sweet vinyl.

I can confirm this. I was browsing in there the other day and spotted it on the store shelves, so I grabbed it along with their preorder bonus for Tekken 6 (a laser art cel and tattoo sleeve). Of course, I already had those preordered at Gamestop for their preorder bonuses, but Best Buy is awesome because you can get your preorders refunded without returning the bonuses. So if you've got it preordered elsewhere, go preorder it for the record sleeve and then get that money refunded when you inevitably get something else this fall like Modern Warfare 2.

That's really awesome, and I'm super stoked for the game. Sadly, I already preordered it at Gamestop long ago. I'd much rather get this vinyl case over a downloadable guitar. :/

just got back from my local best buy in the chicago land area. they did not have the preorder nor did they know anything about it :(. hopefully they get it soon cause I want this
Any idea if online pre-orders from Best Buy work for this? I did the buy one, get one half off thing with this game and MW2, and it'd be a nice bonus to get something like this that I wasn't expecting.

Um, technically it is, but I've never really been a fan of giving different preorder bonuses to different stores to satisfy the store owners, so I'm fine with doing what I do in order to get multiple bonuses. The important thing in my mind is that I buy the game for full price instead of waiting for it to drop (or pirating it like some people will). Besides, I highly doubt those bonuses are worth much more than the sentimental value I attach to them.

Wait, I'm a bit confused. Does this actually have a record in it, or is it literally just a sleeve? Because that would be pretty lame. I'd love to see a game soundtrack on vinyl. I mean, they do it with movies.
I walked into best buy the other day and they have a vinyl section. Saw a some Priest, Hendrix and Van Halen. Of course they we're all those vintage looking reissue, but it's still cool. As long as they master the record for a vinyl instead of just mastering it like a CD then it should be just like the real thing.
I've heard people say it alot and I'm starting to sort of agree that vinyl is making an underground comeback. And newer bands like LoG and Mastodon putting out there new albums on vinyl along with a CD copy is a great idea and is for sure worth $25.
