Two (proper) installments of The Sims with countless expansion packs and these things still creep the hell out of me.

This video is doing nothing to change that assessment as we watch Sims change body shape, features and clothes and dance just enough out of unison to suggest that they're all individual despite carrying out exactly the same motions. The options look pretty varied, though, and I dig the architectural designs they're showing off here.

The series in general has always mystified me. I think the allure lies somewhere between the desire for humans to play God and a tendency towards voyeurism. Well, that and boxing Sims into a room with a window looking at a toilet with no way to reach sweet relief for their swollen colon.

Sims 3 releases on February 20th. Have you guys come up with any new, inventive way to torment them that you'd like to try?

I must be the only gamer on earth that thinks The Sims is boring as all get out.

I can't wait for number 3, I love nearly all of the sims games, except for the majority of spin offs/expansion packs.

For me, it's te creation aspect that draws me into the world of the Sims, I spent hours upon hours creating characters, houses, even neighborhoods.

The character creation looks freaking amazing for this version, The Sims 3 and killzone 2 IN THE SAME MONTH?? Simply sumblime. :)

I bought everything from sims 1 and sims 2 (except a couple of content packs) but unless EA drops their retarded DRM I am not buying it

The Sims series is a guilty pleasure of mine.

I'll be damned if I ever pay for any of those bullshit expansions though.

I used to love The Sims. I even went as far as being baited into buying a few expansion packs too.

However, those days are far gone, and I'm contented with simply watching trailers and NOT buying Sims games.
