Check out the Splinter Cell: Conviction special edition photo

Looking forward to Splinter Cell: Conviction? Want a statue of Sam Fisher? Haven't gotten completely sick and tired of pointless, arrogant special editions? You are in lucky lucksome lucktimes, my friend! The collector's edition for Conviction has been revealed, and it's packed full of so much nonsense you'll weep tears of blood!

Here's the full list of fun that will be included when the game ships on February 26:

  • A sexy statue of Sam Fisher
  • Obligatory metal game case
  • Infiltration Mode: Kill enemies without being seen in new game mode
  • Shadow Armor character skin
  • Early access to three guns for killing: SC300, SR2 and MP5
  • Soundtrack for the listening with ears

The game's multiplayer mode is also set to reveal later this month, debuting on December 16 via Xbox Live. Conviction is looking set to be a seriously cool game, so make sure you keep an eye out for the multiplayer. While you wait, let us know if you're planning to pick up this special edition!

You just know you're going to get a poor imitiation of that statue. Also, will Ubisoft release Infiltration Mode as a timed DLC for those who don't buy the limited edition? They were pretty fair giving away extra maps and skins for free with Double Agent, but I have a feeling we'll be paying for it this time around.

Hmmm. I'm not planning to buy any other games for the beginning months of the year so maybe I can somehow justify getting that.
Hell, if the soundtrack is anywhere near as good as the previous two games that would definitely lean me towards buying it

I'd get it for just the metal case

Is the metal case going to have the wedges cut out of it like the plastic cases?

Isn't this the european CE? I thougth the US one had no statue, some different in-game extras and a USB credit card thingymashit.

Not sure on the CE, but I am looking forward to this. Between ME2 and this, my 360 will be getting a lot more play time.

"Infiltration Mode: Kill enemies without being seen in new game mode"

This is how you do a special edition...Add "extra" stuff/modes as an incentive to purchase.

I'll probably wait until it goes on sale for $50, but I'll pick up the special ed.

@JamnOnTheOne - I completely disagree. I think all gameplay content should be included in every game at release.

I despise Launch-date DLC since it's simply a means of selling a single game at a higher-than-standard price. Developers/publishers are being reimbursed for their production and distribution costs through the retail pricetag of the game, while selling an additionally pre-launch-developed piece of software in a separate transaction.

Special editions that come with this material only propagate this business model by providing a sense of value to their piecemealing of a game. I'm all for the addition of limited packaging, behind-the-scenes info, additional character-skins, and detailed figurines. Also, can someone tell me why collector's editions aren't coming with premium themes!? I think that's absolute garbage.

Ps3 version please? The sneaking methods in Conviction look better than that of MGS's.

@BxB402

Yeah... that's the same thing I was thinking seeing as it's right here. Of course, I would rather go for the statue than the USB drive anyways. The decals however... *ponders*

I love me the Splinter Cell series, but that has to be the stupidest statue to ever come with a game.
I'll give it to my sister-in-law, I guess. If she'll even take it. Rest of the special edition is nice.

While the US one is coming with more content, I really want the figurine. It is bad-ass.

Not going to get the collector's edition. Might get this if it comes to Steam, but need to finish a few other games and will be playing ME2 as soon as I can get my hands on it.
