That's right, we've managed to get our hands on the final box art for the upcoming Metroid Prime Trilogy coming out for the Wii on August 24th. Not only will the game come in a neat looking case, but there is also a stylish sleeve surrounding it for DOUBLE the box art!
While the 2D Metroid games are still my favorite, I really liked the Prime series and thought it did a great job translating the feel of the original into a 3D setting. I also think that Metroid Prime 3 had the best use of motion control on the Wii thus far, so I'm pretty excited to see the other two games getting the same treatment.
For now, this is the only place you can see it, so check out the box art in the gallery below. Are you guys going to be picking this up, or is Metroid Prime not your thing?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
They may have been briefly broken while I was putting in the higher quality ones. Let me know if they still don't work.
Anyway, I already own MP1 and MP3. But, I really want MP2 (and do not want to buy it used). Argh!
Also I only watched MP1 being played by my friend... now I shall experience the glory for myself.
Its sad how one of the only Nintendo games to get me excited lately is a set of game that have already been released. The only other one is Golden Sun 3.
That said, the Prime games did go for new environments, gameplay, and story (though that kinda petered out with Prime being the best and 2 and 3 feeling kinda tacked on). I really enjoyed all the alien environments (Phendrana Drifts, Sanctuary Fortress, and the Pirate Homeworld are the best of their respective games), the new uses for the old items (Fiery Plasma) along with new items (Boost Ball FTW!), the sweet bosses (especially Prime 2), and the story of Prime 1.
I'll consider buying the Prime Trilogy later when it goes down in price. I already owned (I stupidly sole Prime 2) and played to completion all the other games. My only incentive to buy this is to get back Prime 2 and get to play the first two with the Wii Controls (they really are fantastic).
Especially in Prime, which I think sets it's tone beautifully at the beginning of the game with that great music and focus on space as a mostly empty void with some junk floating through it. The voice ruins that feeling to me and would start me off badly. It would taint the experience. I know most of you won't care, but it really does bother me.
But not enough to shell out 50 bucks 3 games I've already played.
Never played the second two. this is a insta-purchasemy wahite paperweight will finally do something other than run Oot and super metroid
I believe that the voice over is only for the Japanese and PAL releases.
Maybe I'll finally get around to beating some of those ridiculous end-game bosses with motion controls, too.
As for Corruption, I'll take the loss and buy it twice. It's that good.
