Check out the official Metroid Prime Trilogy box art photo

That's right, we've managed to get our hands on the final box art for the upcoming Metroid Prime Trilogy coming out for the Wii on August 24th. Not only will the game come in a neat looking case, but there is also a stylish sleeve surrounding it for DOUBLE the box art!

While the 2D Metroid games are still my favorite, I really liked the Prime series and thought it did a great job translating the feel of the original into a 3D setting. I also think that Metroid Prime 3 had the best use of motion control on the Wii thus far, so I'm pretty excited to see the other two games getting the same treatment.

For now, this is the only place you can see it, so check out the box art in the gallery below. Are you guys going to be picking this up, or is Metroid Prime not your thing?

It looks surprisingly not shitty. The double box art sleeve thing looks great

I never played very far into Echoes, so I'd definitely be interested in some "new to me" Wii FPS adventuring.

I was so opposed to 3D first person Metroid games that I never got around to trying any of them. However, I've grown as a person and I think I'll pick up the trilogy.

I wish I could critique the art, but the photos are busted. Is it just us Google Chrome users?

@Matthew Blake

They may have been briefly broken while I was putting in the higher quality ones. Let me know if they still don't work.

$50 for three amazing games? I will definitely buy this. I already have all three, but enhanced versions of 1+2 are a no-brainer.

Is the "Collector's Edition" the ONLY version of the game to be on retail shelves? I ask because it would be rather strange to list 16:9 support and Wiimote controls for all games as "exclusive content."

Anyway, I already own MP1 and MP3. But, I really want MP2 (and do not want to buy it used). Argh!

this is right at the top of my want list right now. I loved 1, never finished 2 and haven't even played 3.

I alreadly have 3 but getting 1 and 2 will be cheaper then simply purchasing them separately not to mention it will be more of a hassle to keep those disks together and the controls won't be as good so I'm pretty exicted for this.

This is how you do a collector edition: release it AFTER the game has proven itself. I have the 3 games, and finished them all, but I'll buy this one too, if only to play 1 & 2 with the wiimote, at harder difficulties.

Oh god this gets me hard. Maybe I'll finally be able to finish MP2.

Also I only watched MP1 being played by my friend... now I shall experience the glory for myself.

Its sad how one of the only Nintendo games to get me excited lately is a set of game that have already been released. The only other one is Golden Sun 3.

It's certainly miles better than the MP3 box art. I dare I say I like it. A nice glossy effect to the light blue parts would really make it stand out.

I actually like the Prime Series better than the 2D games. Don't get me wrong, the 2D games at their best were amazing. Problem for me was they dropped in quality after Super. Fusion's environments were uninteresting (Sector 2 and 4 were alright) and the game itself far too linear for my tastes. M:ZM is nice, but I can't help feeling it's a waste to have made a remake over a 5th game. I kinda feel that we never got a true sequel to Super.

That said, the Prime games did go for new environments, gameplay, and story (though that kinda petered out with Prime being the best and 2 and 3 feeling kinda tacked on). I really enjoyed all the alien environments (Phendrana Drifts, Sanctuary Fortress, and the Pirate Homeworld are the best of their respective games), the new uses for the old items (Fiery Plasma) along with new items (Boost Ball FTW!), the sweet bosses (especially Prime 2), and the story of Prime 1.

I'll consider buying the Prime Trilogy later when it goes down in price. I already owned (I stupidly sole Prime 2) and played to completion all the other games. My only incentive to buy this is to get back Prime 2 and get to play the first two with the Wii Controls (they really are fantastic).

I have all 3, but the Wii control addition is tempting because they were excellent in Metroid Prime 3.

I'm definitely picking this up. The only thing that's really going to suck is the fact that you won't be able to use your original Prime 3 save with this version (at least, I don't think you can). Also, I really hope we're allowed to back our saves up instead of having it locked to the system like tons of other Wii games. They didn't do it to MP3, so there's no reason to do it here. I don't want to back it up through Homebrew.

Zack & Wiki made the best use of motion control. Metroid Prime 3 was pretty nice though.

You know what makes me an idiot? The fact that if I can't turn off the voice acting they added (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dEV6846bCo#t=3m20s) in the New Play!! versions of Prime 1 and 2 I won't buy them. I seriously would hate to have to hear that dialogue played every time I started a new game.

Especially in Prime, which I think sets it's tone beautifully at the beginning of the game with that great music and focus on space as a mostly empty void with some junk floating through it. The voice ruins that feeling to me and would start me off badly. It would taint the experience. I know most of you won't care, but it really does bother me.

That sexy case alone is a big enough reason for me to buy this when it comes out. That, and the fact that I never fully completed Echoes.

I'll be happy to have both versions of MP1/2. I don't care for the bad voice-acting at the beginning of Prime 1 Wii, and apparently the FMV in both 1/2 takes a compression hit in the new trilogy versions. And who doesn't love the Gamecube controller?

Maybe I'll finally get around to beating some of those ridiculous end-game bosses with motion controls, too.

As for Corruption, I'll take the loss and buy it twice. It's that good.
