please make Legacy of Kain in the same vein as Neir but more darker and grittier it's the least you can do for the franchise :)
Kain....darker. [SPOILERS!] Kain ripped Raziel's wings off in jealously and kicked him in the abyss of the netherealm.
If that's not dark enough....wow.
Also, LARA IS BACK. (Though technically Underworld is her proper comeback, but people apparently underrate it. Its a gem.]
@Dv8th
You know what was shit? Killer Instinct for SNES.
Took me forever to migrate my ultra combo skills to the console port. Though getting killer cuts was sweet and....wait, whadda we talkin bout?!
Also the Killer Cuts CD owns and I wish I still had mine. KIIIIILLEEER, KIIILLEEEEEER, OOOOOOOOOOOH SHE'S A KILLLLLLLER
everybody got that?
ok
I have great faith that this is going to be an amazing exploration style game, with some awesome multiplayer
Maybe with a little bit of platforming, but for all these screenshots are telling me that's far from the focus. The screenshots here don't proclaim "You're going to climb the SHIT out of these environments". I would have liked to see a bit more of the climbing in action, especially given the fact we're not seeing any weapons play here either. So these screenshots don't really do anything for me. Especially not the one event which shows a QTE.
Maybe I'm overanalyzing what could wind up being mostly shots from a single cutscene, but I'll paraphrase Sephiroth X: These screenshots were carefully chosen and released specifically to cause a reaction. As someone who bought all three Crystal Dynamics-developed Tomb Raider games, my reaction is confusion and disappointment. Were this a new IP, I'd barely be interested since it shows nothing new, and aside from the vista of the ship graveyard, the screens aren't very impressive from a graphics or environments standpoint.
As it stands, I'm now firmly in the "wait and see" instead of "excited for new Tomb Raider" camp, which means this marketing ploy took me down a step from where I was before. If Crystal Dynamics (or SquareEnix) had any sense, they'd have teased one or two in-game shots (like the ship graveyard one I mentioned, which DOES make me interested) before releasing a few more shots down the line which emphasize gameplay.
Either stick with someone or end the series. I'm sick of seeing you, Lara.
How shocking that someone named "westerngamer" would love gritty reboots full of brown.
Game is a definitely a no buy for me so far, doubt that will change, it's all terrible choices so far.
Good job assuming there. My name has more to do my falling out with Japanese games this gen. And yes, realistic settings should not have realistic color palettes. Seriously, this TR rebirth is not such a far stretch. You might have an argument if it was Mario or something like that, but you don't have a leg to stand on with TR.
And terrible choices all around? The only thing shown is that they started when she was younger and transformed her from an adolescent sex symbol to a realistic woman. So terrible.
I didn't play Tomb Raider for realistic serious gritty exploring, it was about running around shooting dinosaurs as said sex symbol. Also my assumption turned out to pretty true either way then I'd say.
Apparently tombs are not dark and dirty but filled with rainbows and farting unicorns. I rather it takes this darker direction than turning Lara back into a ridiculous sex object aimed at thirteen year old boys.
I'm convinced that old Lara's huge-looking boobs were a result of a decently large chest and way too much stretching, which resulted in early sagging. No woman with a moderate chest can flip around like that that often, even with the best sports bra.
Great, now I squicked MYSELF out.
How do you know there won't be any dinosaurs? Yes, the 13 screenshots CONFIRM that there will be not ANY fantasy elements. Much like people say about Uncharted pure realism, right. And no, your assumption didn't, since I already said that if Mario did this you would have a leg to stand on. Reading comprehension, reading comprehension.
Also, what Zantetsuken said.
They're also not full of sharks, underwater caverns, dinosaurs, giant snake monsters and so on, it's called fantasy for a reason. This is why I hate gritty reboots, not everything has to be realistic, imagination is a cool thing some times, even if it's completely on the silly side.
Unless you have some incredible clairvoyance, you have no idea that those elements are not present in the game. She has a whole island to work with, not just a series of caves. Your assumptions remind me of all the people that were calling for Ninja Theory's head after the Dante redesign, and then Capcom came said it was them. Oops, foot in mouth.
