top down viewpoint... no thanks, not on a full retail priced game.
I assume that most top-down games are sold at a lower price due to smaller amounts of content versus retail games, but the same is true with every kind of game. I don't think that top-down games denote last generation experiences, as I think they're still going strong today - like Torchlight (which is a crap example because it's a budget title).
For this genre, top-down is really the way to go. I respect your preference, though. I'm the kind of person who would rather have a third-person view than first person 99% of the time. I even suffered through the craptastic third-person view in Fallout 3 and New Vegas as much as I possibly could.
I'm not really sure I understand your idea that the viewpoint should influence the price, though. I mean, if it was third person it would still be the exact same game, only it would be much harder to keep track of the enemies and delicious loots.
On-topic, I CANNOT wait for this game. It's a lovely year for console gamers who love hack & slash loot-a-thons.
