More single-player missions for the Blood Ravens, a raise in level cap from 20 up to 30, previously unseen multiplayer content: all of this will be present in the Chaos Rising expansion for Warhamer 40,000: Dawn of War 2.

Most importantly, though, is the inclusion of the Chaos Space Marines. Oh yeah, we knew they were coming alright -- but I wasn't expecting them to bring it so hard. The squeamish aren't going to want to watch the trailer, and they're definitely not going to want to witness the bloodshed depicted in the gallery.

It's an all-out bloodbath, but what do you expect? These are the Chaos Space Marines we're talking about here. Chaos Rising will be out sometime in spring 2010.

I've been waiting for Chaos since before DoW 2 came out, in fact even though I betaed the game I waited till just a couple of months ago to get it. Well since it didn't have Chaos plus I figure around now it would be balanced.

Looks like there's some new units for existing races too!
Any word on the Imperial Guard being playable?

The Inquisitor/Librarian we see in the one screen looks like the Inquisitor from the first game's campaign. I thought he died though...

That was chaotic!

It takes Relic too long to release this stuff. Of course, gifts like The Last Stand is nice.

I'm not complainin'.

What the thick-headed fools with their broken corpse of an
Emperor fail to understand is that not only can they never defeat
us, but they can not hide or flee or shield themselves from the
triumph of Chaos. They are finite and we are unbound,
undivided. They must not err, or they fall to heresy. All who fall
join our cause. Every Imperial fool who dares to open his eyes is
a willing recruit. They strive merely to hold back our fury and
might, and it consumes them. Thus you can see Chaos is
inevitable. We lurk not only beyond their grasp and at their gates;
we lurk within the darkness of their souls, on the tip of their
tongues, in their tortured dreams. We are them, but freed from
the shackles of ignorance. We are them, grown strong… evolved.
We are them, but so much more!

...anybody?

Within dark and forgotten places hide the enemies of the Emperor. You have been chosen to enter such places and, protected by the best armour the Adeptus Mechanicus can provide, cleanse it. Take with you weapons, a valiant heart and the Emperor's blessing, and engage the enemy where it makes its lair. Acknowledge death as it approaches, but do not succumb to its touch, for your purpose is great. You have proved yourselves to be worthy of the status you now hold. Every one of you standing here, all of whom have declared allegiance to the Emperor and take his will as your guide, have shown your courage and have been rewarded for it. Those that stand before me, I charge you now, go forth and vanquish the foe.

Man, every time I see a chaos space marine I am reminded of how much of an asshole Horus was. He managed to ruin everything we had striven so hard to achieve. What's worse is that some of his fellow traitor primarchs are still alive, like Mortarion and Magnus. Throne be praised that we have the God Emperor with us.
