Hey, wannabe superheroes! Now is the time for you to realize your cape-wearing spandex dreams on the cheap, because Cryptic's superhero MMO Champions Online has renamed itself to Champions Online: Free For All. Which means it's now a free-to-play joint. You can download the client here.

The game's been tweaked a bunch for its retcon, with changes to character progression, builds and all kinds of patch-like things and you can see more details regarding that here. You can still opt to subscribe, or even go lifetime, which turns you into a "Gold" subscriber with extra goodies. See those here.

As for the handsome purple person up in the header? That's my guy, MagicJack the Robot Sorcerer. With potent alchemical solutions mixed within his coolant matrix, he defends life, liberty and robot rights with military-grade wizardry!
