Chair drops hints, talks life after Shadow Complex photo

It's crazy to think how most if not all of us have stopped talking about Shadow Complex as if it no longer exists. It just goes to show, even one of the year's greatest download-only releases is no match for the high amount of excellent games we see come out around this time. There simply isn't enough time for all of them.

Russ over at MTV Multiplayer is keeping the Shadow Complex conversation alive with the help of Chair co-founder Donald Mustard, who recently said the team is "definitely working on things."

"I'm just not going to tell you what it is ... we're still evaluating in the design phase." No kidding? The studio is trying to figure out the best route to take, which could include creating downloadable content, but almost certainly means expanding the company's size.

Mustard says he wouldn't want to limit Chair to any one platform, genre, or delivery method for the next project, which raises all sorts of questions. Where do you guys want to see them go from here? Is there any one type of game you think Chair ought to consider creating next?

I'd just about kill for a sequel. I'm playing through Shadow Complex for about the 3rd time now and going for the under 13% achievement.

Make SC2 a full retail game that's much larger in scope and longer than SC1, with more defined boss battle set pieces and a map that is redonkulous when compared to SC1. Loved the game, want much, much more just like it. If it means 60 bucks, I'll pay 60 bucks, just make sure you give us 60 bucks worth of game.

I would like to see Chair release their games (both past and future ones) on the PS3 and PC. That way we people without a 360 would also be able to enjoy their products.

I loved Shadow complex. I would definitely like to see a sequel that had a larger map, or even several maps of differing themes.

Mace - Only let the PS3ers have it if they ask very nicely, and promise not to ruin every single game related atricle on the internet. ;o)

I think Shadow complex is a great example of a game that does so well you could print some disks and put some extras on there for $19.99 and people would buy it, like me.

I'd love to see them create something that just hasn't done well on a console. The guys at Chair are very creative guys. So while they might have messed up the color scheme of Undertow, they had a lot of interesting ideas with it. Once they got some resources from Epic, they made Shadow Complex which was highly praised. So I'd like to see them tackle some things that haven't done well on the consoles. Maybe an RTS or dungeon crawler like diablo or something else. Heck make a downloadable RPG. we still haven't seen one of those on the 360.

They should make something for the DSi. Something similar to Shadow Complex. I need more portable Metroidvania.

Agreed @ Professor Booty

A mind-blowingly huge map, or several, retail-level graphics (not to say SC's weren't great, but they were hindered in terms of texture quality and such,) and some more unique twists on the gameplay would easily earn my $60. I would have paid $30 for the first one, so they don't even need to push it that far. They have the blueprint, they just need to mix up the gameplay/powers a bit. I played the shit out of shadow complex and a balls-to-the-wall über-sequel in retail would be fucking awesome.

SC at retail in any form is something I can support.

What are you crazy people saying about wanting the sequel to be $60 with all this extra crap? What made the first one so cool is that it was this hardcore game as a DLC and at a good price. If they do all of this $60 retail crap that you guys are saying then their budget will go through the roof and get lost in the fray of all the retail competition.
