I've been watching this and trying to get details on the specs since it was announced.
It's nothing i'd replace my gaming PC with, but I've been looking for a damn good netbook, and so far this looks pretty damn neat.

Price! Price! Price! How much? That's always the biggun. Sweet netbook! Say what? It's a grand? Quickest way to change someone's mind.
atom proc won't push newish pc games, especially FPS's.
Tablet PCs are slowly eliminating the need for netbooks and the 'switchblade' seems a little too late to the dance.

Guaranteed the Atom is not the best (not even close) processor on the market. A ton of new netbook sized processors have just been announced, and this is still a prototype. I'm hoping Razer has the option for different processors when it's eventually up for ordering.

I heard the keys are made of rubber, and are not OLED. Did you get any hands on with it to confirm, or deny this?

I love changing keys. My brother got the Alias 2, I believe, and when I first saw those keys I thought "that would be pretty useful for gaming"
It's cool that you want to "revolutionise" handheld PC gaming, Razer, but let's just think about this for a second.

Useless in the majority of games, simply because your hand covers the screen.
-Performance
Notice they only demo'd Quake Live and WoW. An Atom simply will not cope with any reasonable amount of gaming, and similarly whatever GPU is included won't either.
Fuck, my goddamn PHONE can play Quake Live. (Well, Quake 3, but same difference)

I would never buy one of those unless there was widespread adoption of the tech by game developers. I would buy a stand alone keyboard that does this however.
Hmm, looks interesting... The configurable keys bother me a little though. makes me wonder how easilly the would fall off or something. Maybe just use dual touch screens instead.
Probably not for me though, as I get laptops that are more desktop replacement than anything...

I know you can plug in a mouse, but then it really isnt that portable or different from a laptop anymore, isnt it?

i think that the touch screen is more for when you are not gaming but dont want to bust out a mouse.
but i dont know if the atom cpu is going to be enough. why can mac fit a core 2 duo in an 11 inch macbook air but they cant fit a core 2 duo in this? if they did onboard flash storage instead of an HDD they would have a pretty good amount of room for the battery. they need to tear open the 11in macbook air and take some notes.

left shift and control are in the wrong place, and some keys that are standard for most games arent there at all, i think razer should stick to making overpriced mice
Meh.. Razer is an awesome company and all, I have quite a few of their products, but this isn't exactly one I'd support. It's too iffy, I'd rather use my "Old-fashioned" Razer Lycosa and 3500 dpi mouse. Then again, I don't really care about portability when it comes to gaming.
The keys just seem unnecessary, sure, it's fancy and all that you can completely customize them for specific games, but I don't see how it's any different than using a normal keyboard. You're just paying more for the same thing. (And yeah, it's Razer, it's gonna be generally expensive.) I don't see a point, unless you're some mediocre PC gamer who just stares at their keyboard the whole time.

I can definitly see this filling a Niche. Depending on the price point I can see a college student going into a coffee shop (or similar location) and playing a light/medium game for half an hour to kill time.
I'm seeing a $600 WoW-on-the-couch player. Which during my WoW days would have been pretty good. I know when shopping for various replacement peripherals Razor has come up as an option a couple times, but after reading user reviews I ended up going with Logitech instead. Anyway this looks pretty good and some good ideas and potential so I'm hopeful.
I like the idea, and if I didn't have a macbook I would be interested. But right now my Macbook is fulfilling my every semi-portable gaming desire.

I have an Alienware MX11 with an I5 processor and 11.6 inch screen. I needed something that wasn't backbreaking for school, yet I am pleasantly surprised at how well it runs the newest games.
Because my job offers a really heavy Dell discount, it was super affordable. I don't see how anything like this by Razor can come in sub-$1000.
And an Atom processor? That's a major bottleneck right there, no matter how good the GPU is. Still, the touchscreen concept is awesome.

Interesting, however, seeing as I only recently got a laptop that runs games decently, probably won't get this anytime soon.
Has it occurred to anyone that since Intel is working hand in hand with Razor that they might give the Razor dev team access to new Atom processors such as the Oak Trail chip?
If they want something that really works well, they should make a handheld that allows you to stream your home computer's screen to the device and control the mouse and keyboard. As long as you had WiFi nearby, or maybe even a good G4 connection, you'd be able to play pretty much anything on it since hardware would not be an issue. In a way, it would be semi-future poof.
