Speaking at Sony's CES 2012 press conference, Kaz Hirai came on stage to give us a little bit of gaming news in between the tech talk. Netflix is going to offer its streaming service on PlayStation Vita in the United States, he revealed.
Hirai was deliberate in his wording, noting that Netflix is "working" to have an app in time for the Vita's February 22 launch in the US. Considering the handheld's beautiful screen, this is indeed good news. I'll watch at least two episodes of the Twilight Zone on here, which is more than I can say for my 3DS.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
A. AT&T's ridiculous data plan limits.
B. Someone sitting at home would just use their PS3 for Netflix.
works great
Or, I could just bring back the Walkman.
...And neither is the fact many have already commented as such...
If you haven't tried the Vita yet, then I'd call that a POS comment.
What about if you're in bed and you don't have a Netflix-capable smartphone or tablet handy?
Also, that screen.
if you have a psv you have a tv in your bedroom
No thanks.
Now if the article stated that it'd work better then the app does on the 360, THEN I'd call it news. Otherwise this feels like business as usual.
My question is: How long for Hulu? Cause they say -if I remember- it was coming for the 3DS by the end of last year but I haven't heard a damn thing about it since they said it. It seems like Hulu would work even better on the Vita if the 3DS thing were true (But truth be told the real conundrum/surprise of last year for me was how swimmingly the Netflix app worked on the 3DS. Wasn't expecting it to be so smooth)
@Syn and a few others.
I don't know about you all, but I'll probably be watching it on Wi-Fi, just like I use it on my 3DS now. AT&T's data plans (its their fault primarily, not Sony's, so get off it already -they provide, Sony has to deal with it, mostly) won't effect Wi-fi, so look into that before any of you jump the gun on things.
"Seems kinda pointless doesn't it?
A. AT&T's ridiculous data plan limits.

That I wouldn't have to explain it. Seemed obvious to me.
Why the hell would I use the Vita for Netflix if I'm close to a Wifi point where I could use any of a dozen other devices for it?
