You guys already know that Dead Rising's Frank West in Capcom's upcoming Wii brawler, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars. No news on that. I just wanted to let you know that I gave him a spin, and he's great fun to play.
Frank spent all that time and hard work getting out of the mall, but now he's back in. I got to check out the Williamette Mall stage so that Frank might feel right at home. In the background, hundreds of zombies watch from behind barriers and from the second floor of the mall. Watch for awhile in the background and you'll see some strange zombie behavior. They're normally just spectators, but some shopper zombies occasionally pass by. There's even a Servbot-headed zombie in the mix.
Frank himself is a fine fighter. I mean, he's covered wars, you know. Just like my beloved Jill Valentine in Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Frank can call forth a zombie to get into the mix. These lumbering losers are best used to get some extra hits in the action. Following up with a combo after the zombie hits your opponent is cool. Just keep in mind that zombies can hurt Frank too. He has brought along some of his favorite weapons to fight with. You can still hit your enemies with golf clubs, but he left the orange juice jugs out of it this time. All of this pales in comparison to his projectile: speeding zombie shopping carts. The fastest one never failed to make me laugh. Your opponent won't, though.
My favorite move? One super has to be spaced correctly, but when done right, Frank caps the head of his opponent with a Servbot helmet. Then he beats the sh*t out of him/her. Frank is a blast to play.
It should be noted that I played Frank with the upcoming MadCatz Tatsunoko vs. Capcom FightStick, which worked beautifully. Many zombies were sent forth with the greatest of ease.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
The game lucky to even be on the Wii let alone getting an out of Japan release. CAPCOM officially stated that the only reason it's on ANY console is because the software of the arcade machines they were using seemed to resemble the wii's.
I know that this game probably won't sell that great and I wish that it could be on other consoles too but when a game that by all means should have probably never been released in English I don't like to tell the publishers that they should go screw themselves.
Considering I just bought Soul Calibur II, next month will be fighting game month!
But I really want that Fightstick to play this game with, and I don't think I'll have that kind of money too. I've heard good things about the Smash Bros. style of play that comes out of using the Wiimote+Nunchuck, so I guess I'll do without it for a while. I'd rather support Capcom with this game (despite how they don't seem to want to advertise it) than wait until I can get the best controller.
Also, Journalism!
I love you DR:CTYD, but I'm still bitter.
Also, IMO, this game is better suited to the wii than either of the two other systems, particularly with regards to control. This game is perfectly functional/enjoyable on a classic controller, which is a lot cheaper than a fightstick. I prefer the wii's CC d-pad over that of the 360/ps3. Though that madcatz (right?) fightpad thingy I saw looked good.
Plus, since the arcade hardware the game was built on is similar to a wii, the port was an easy one.
To PS3/360 owners who want this game on your console, quit saying that you do, because Capcom kept saying it countless times that it was made for Wii and if there is a sequel, it will stay on Wii. You got SSFIV, MvC2 and HD Remix already.
I own a 360, but I am all for this game on the Wii. Finally, an original Fighter on a Nintendo Console, first time since the SNES (Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO doesn't count since it was on PS2 first).
