CES officially kicks off tomorrow in Las Vegas, and I'm sad to report that I won't be attending this year. Instead, Dale North and Conrad Zimmerman will be on the scene to bring you all of the news on the latest game-related gadgets and the games themselves.
But here's why I'm really glad I stayed home -- cupcakes. Third-party accessory manufacturer Nyko sent me a box of six big cupcakes to promote its CES presence, which will include a Wii charging dock and a cooling station for the PlayStation Slim. Full disclosure -- I'm eating these things. Red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting? There's nothing to do but eat them.
Ironically, had I actually been headed to CES this year, I would have missed this cupcake munching opportunity. Instead, I'd return from Vegas with a hangover and sore legs only to find a box of stale confections on my door step. Again, I'm glad I stayed home.
Enjoy your porn awards, platinum-plated HDMI cables, free drinks, and 3D televisions, guys. I'll be sitting on my couch playing BioShock 2 preview code with red velvet crumbs all over my chest. Nom freakin' nom.
Thanks for the yummy red velvet cupcakes. You can keep your lousy, uncomfortable controllers and worthless system coolers.
Sincerely,
Mr. Chester
