CES 2010: Alienware unveils the M11x photo

Doing the LAN thing with the M17x is great exercise -- the machine’s robust shape and weight maximizes strain on hard to sculpt back muscles. But if you’re not into lugging portable gaming rigs for the sake of looking like a Greek god, rest easy: the M11x is a thing.

Announced during Dell’s CES press conference, the M11x is Alienware’s latest gaming laptop. Its 11-inch design makes it more compact than the rest of the manufacturer’s line, and apparently the laptop’s power doesn’t suffer because of this. Gizmodo is reporting that this pup can do two hours of “intense gaming,” and reach 50 FPS in a nasty game like Crysis (among other hip tech stuff).

We just want to know if it can do Peggle. In 50 windows at the same time.

A gaming laptop of this power for that price is quite amazing.

More important to the PC gaming industry however is offering basic 3D video cards in every laptop. A simple nVidia 7000 series would allow everyone with a laptop to be somewhat of a PC gamer and expand the market massively and those cards are only $50 retail.

I'm just glad that when I'm in the market for a new laptop (not for a couple of years), shit like this will be commonplace. And I can get one for cheap.

"50FPS Crysis, 30FPS Call of Duty on High Settings"

Is that a typo? My computer runs Modern Warfare 2 on High at about 50FPS, and Crysis on High at about 10FPS.

so if I were to get this I could play Fallout 3 without adding anything else? I am looking for a decent laptop for gaming that has the system requirements for most games out on PC.

I don't understand why everyone here is drooling over this. Why would someone want an Alienware netbook that badly? On that note, why would anyone want an Alienware period?

And who wants to game on an 11-inch monitor?

Asus right now has the best bang for the buck on laptops right now, in my opinion.

That's a little expensive for what you're actually getting.

En envelope is 11 inches in diameter, you've got to be kidding me.

What does it mean by "two hours of intense gaming"? if this this can only last 2 hours without crashes then its not worth the price at all.

In fact, its a terrible machine if thats the case...

I need a laptop and was planning on getting one near the beginning of February, I'm gonna wait for this to come out and definitely snag it. I love the fact that it has an HDMI port and so many other things about it!
