Good news for fans of Miley Cyrus and Dr. McDreamy. During tonight's Microsoft CES 2008 press conference, President of Entertainment & Devices Division Robbie Bach announced some new Xbox LIVE Video Marketplace partnerships that I'm sure will make your jaws drop.
The first two partnerships bring television content in the form of Disney and ABC programming. This includes shows like Disney's Hannah Montana and the ridiculously popular High School Musical, and NBC's Lost, Grey's Anatomy, and Deseperate Housewives. On the movie side, MGM will also be bringing its library of films to the Marketplace, and will be delivering films such as Dances with Wolves, Rocky, Terminator, Silence of the Lambs, and Legally Blonde.
Bach is quick to point out that with this content, Xbox LIVE Video Marketplace will be offering twice as many hours of on-demand content than any cable or sattelite provider.
More (if any) Xbox 360 related news as it comes.

Whoo hoo Dis-freakin'-ney and AB-freaking-C.
END TEH HANA MONTONAA FANZ REJOYZ!!!
Not much new. Think about it. It was almost a big recap and a few Windows Live features. Add a few Zune tidbits and you have the 2008 MS Keynote!
I'm not surprised they didn't do any Xbox Live demonstrations, the service is all over the place at the moment. If they can't cope with Xbox Live I can't imagine them handling a lot of that high bandwidth Windows/Xbox Live functionality they intend to implement.
After all that hype and Major Nelson kicking off about it, I was really expecting something relatively exciting on the gaming front. Instead we get regurgitated news about new media partners and insignificant deals they'd made with BT. Great... ¬_¬
NO. PLEASE, PLEASE SAVE THAT DEATH FOR DORA.
Also — and I’m not trying to be clever, Nick; just trying to help — you have an extra “e” in Desperate Housewives up there.
Haha... forbidden fruit, wouldn't be so appealing if it could be tasted.
...Or it's just coincidence. Either way the whole HD movies thing has a bitter taste in my mouth, and I haven't even picked up either of the formats. I'm just going to wait until HVD comes to the masses. Downloading would be great, but not everyone is connected to a Fiber Optic connection. Don't get me wrong, I do plenty of Downloading on my 1.5Mbps DSL, but even a 10Mbps cable line still requires quite the wait for HD movie downloading to be somewhat reasonable. It's a step in the right direction, though.
But i'm looking forward to Lost being on there. Especially if it comes out the day after the original airing. I'd much rather watch a commercial free showing...even if i pay for it. That's how i usually kept up w/the CSI's, Big Bang Theory, and a few other shows until this whole writer's strike bullshit started. Now there's no new content.
So only 11 months and 2 weeks till she is legal over here, nomnomnom! Oh shit she lives in the US :(
And yeah, fix that "NBC" business.
