The TrackMania games have easily been some of the most enjoyable arcade racers to come out in the last few years thanks to the seemingly limitless amount of customization they offer. With more than 3 million registered TrackMania Nations Forever players today, it's plain to see that I'm not alone in thinking the series is superb.

Now there's a neat little video floating around detailing the biggest milestones the series has accomplished during its lifespan, and it's not something you are going to want to miss seeing.

From the original TrackMania's launch way back in 2003 to the unforgettable 1K project to beating the world record for most online players by having 250 people racing on a single track, it's all there for your viewing pleasure.

Even if you haven't played any of the games before, I strongly urge you to check out the video above; you'll thank me later.

If you haven't already, buy the latest version.

Seriously. TMS used up practically all my summer. Got into double digits on world ranking, it's that addictive.

Why haven't I ever heard of these games? I'm downloading TrackMania Nations Forever right now.

Come to think of it, I think I have heard the name of the game before. I always assumed it was some kind of BeatMania mod or spinoff or something.

In the video it said TM for the DS had already been released . Has it? I thought for sure it wasn't out yet.

It's out for DS in EU, where the game series comes from. Played the rom, it's sort of rubbish, compared to the PC version anyways. The trailer they showed was lies and PC footage, or seriously touched up. I mean, it's not BAD, it runs at a decent framerate and has most of the course pieces of the PC version. But the physics are such a big part of the game, and they're just kind of a halfway imitation on the DS version.

@Wedge

You're judging the game on a ROM? The game is pretty much everything I wanted from a console Trackmania with the exception of online play. Its fast, looks awesome and there's none of the slowdown I sometimes get on United.

Please Nadeo, give us a big console version. I've been asking for it since Sunrise.
