cdv's action-RPG Dinivity II goes gold for PC, Xbox 360 photo

cdv Software Entertainment and dtp entertainment have announced that its action-RPG, Divinity II: Eco Draconis, has gone gold. The title will hit North American retailers on January 5, 2010 for both PC and Xbox 360.

The game is the sequel proper to 2002's Divine Divinity, and puts players in "the role of a young Dragon Slayer, a hero with the ability to transform into a dragon, and take to the skies to fight against an onslaught of deadly creatures." Imagine the internal psyhological conflict that guy has to deal with. He kills dragons and he can turn into a dragon. That's deep, man.

In other news, I haven't stabbed anything with the knife cdv sent me awhile back.

How many times have you thought about using said knife? Remember knives don't kill people, serial killers and nutjobs kill people. The question we all want to know is, are you a serial killer or a nutjob?

They got 360 (panorama, not the console) screen shots on the official website. Really cool stuff.

If it gets good reviews, I might have to buy it. It sounds like the kind of game I would love.

@Locke - the first one actually got pretty good reviews, however the two are very different in form. Divine Divinity was more of an isometric diablo style game, and Divinity II is more of an 3rd person Action RPG.

I have been playing it here at the cdv office quite a bit, and I'm actually enjoying it a great deal.. and being able to turn into a dragon is, I must say.. amazingly epic.

transforming is cool... one think im skeptical about is the review. i mean reviews come out WELL BEFORE they should be reviewed. MW2 reviews were coming out in like hours after release and everyone was say 10+++. really we know that mw2 is closer to an 8 - 8.5 for PC at the best.

transforming into a dragon is cool and all for about the first 10 times then what? as gamers we have to ask more than "it was cool". games should give us more like they used to.

this MAY be a great game, but somehow i don't really think that it will be more than a 7 even though i really want it to be 10+++.

@Locke - I understand what you are saying bro, I was talking about reviews for the first game Divine Divinity! Any reviews that are out now for Divinity II are for the German release which came out not too long ago.

Fortunately from what I've experienced in the game, is that the transforming into the dragon is balanced out fairly well with the melee ground combat, which is fun in its own right. I think the main reason why I like this game so much is there really isn't an Action RPG like this that I have enjoyed on PC.
