There's a couple of reasons why you'd have to check your boxers in the morning when you wake up. A particularly good dream? Or a terrifying nightmare? It could go either way for Vincent, the main character in Atlus' Catherine. This new trailer for the upcoming game shows how your daily life affects your dreams/nightmares, and that there may be something to that urban legend that says that if you die in your sleep you also die in real life.
If you're good in the pants department, be sure check out the new screenshots that Atlus sent along.
Atlus also sends word that the Catherine demo will be released for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 on July 12th. That will should hold you over until the release date, July 26th.
It's just you, jimmy. It's just you. Now run along and find something with guns.
Back on topic: I've said it before, but nothing beats a Wet Nightmare. A damn fine experience. You'll find out what I'm talking about a in couple of years, jimmy, so don't worry your adorable little head over it yet.
Excited to hear about the demo. I'm just amazed Atlus was able to localize, translate, hire voice actors, and even have a special edition of this game!
I wouldn't think such a thing would be economically feasible in North America! Already preordered.
Vince probably crapped himself in sheer frustration due to his passivity in the dream he described. It's better than doing nothing, I suppose. I'd rather do the killing in the dream, too.
Other than disappointment in not being able to play Catherine the character (or Freddy Krueger), I still look forward to playing Catherine the game.
I remain skeptically optimistic about Catherine. New ideas are always welcome, but it's all in the execution. Maybe the demo will shed some light on what it's actually about.
@XenoMad - There's really no reason to be surprised, there's really nothing particularly explicit about the game. Honestly the only thing I was surprised about was that they kept the original Japanese cover, I did expect that to get altered.
Absolutely loving the English voice work. Looking forward to finally trying this game out. Though in typical Atlus fashion, even if the gameplay is no fun, I'll probably end up buying the game regardless just for the narrative.
So excited for this game. And for the nay sayers who no doubt will come in calling it hentai(or something like that) the sexual aspects were overblown for marketing purposes. Games actually pretty tame.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again; The only reason this game is not a must buy is because I do not actually own a 360 or PS3. Even under those circumstances, I might get it. It looks so good, as many of the Atlus games, and all of the games from the Persona team do.

Atlus has revealed some figures in its earnings report, but it's in Japanese which is all bukkake to me. Luckily Andriasang has translated some key info. Catherine sold 260,000 units in Japan and 230,000 internationally, on X...more

The latest offering from Mega64 actually has one of the most straightforward set-ups. There are no props. No cameos. No other starring members except Rocco. It turns out that the subject matter of Catherine is weird enough on its own to produce an incredibly awkward series of encounters with Rocco playing a disturbingly forlorn nerd
